BGG.CON 2021

Road Trip!!!

What a couple of years this has been! Lots of ups and downs and lots of staying home. We are so excited to finally have the opportunity to meet together again. So, plan a road trip and come join us for BGG.CON 2021! And if you are a game designer or just interested in game design, come a few days early for Tabletop Network - info below.

Over five days and nights, we’ll play tons of games together sitting in real chairs that are at real tables, with friends old and new. As per usual, "Open Gaming" is the prime reason we get together, and the BGG Library is anxiously awaiting some loving attention from attendees.

What's up with the webpage?

Looks awesome, right?!? Some of you are familiar with Tabletop.Events (TTE). As the pandemic began, an opportunity opened up for BGG to support this site and add it to the portfolio of what BGG offers gamers.

Take your time and look around. We are not opening up badge sales quite yet (probably around June 23rd). Review the links and see what you can see. Let us know if you have any feedback or questions either via email to events@boardgamegeek.com or in the BGG.CON forums.

Tabletop Network - CANCELLED

We are once again excited to host the Tabletop Network developer's conference leading up to BGG.CON on November 14-16, 2021.

IMPORTANT Highlights:

TTE Account: The most important thing you need to know before purchasing a badge is that you will need a TTE account, if you don't already have one. (Once this is set up, you can register for any convention hosted via TTE's platform.)

Updated Policies (as of June 1, 2021)

• COVID Guidelines: Note that we are still evaluating our plans and procedures regarding safety protocols during this ongoing pandemic. See this thread on BGG for up-to-date information. Masks are encouraged for those who are unvaccinated, per the CDC guidelines. Please be respectful and kind to everyone, masked and unmasked. We may have some spaces where masks and social distancing are required.

• Minors at BGG.CON: No children under 13 - this is a change from past years where we allowed 12 and up, but this gets us more inline with COPPA and other internet standards. Anyone under 18 will need to provide emergency contact information during the registration process. Gamers of all ages are still welcome at BGG.Spring held over the last weekend in May.

• Refunds/Transfers: See here for updated refund deadlines. Refunds for badges purchased on TTE can be refunded the full amount minus any associated fees (payment processing and TTE support) up until November 1st. You will be able to trigger the refund directly from your TTE account and the system will automatically add your badge back into the pool available for someone else to purchase. You are also able to purchase and transfer badges to others. Because badges can become available at anytime due to refunds we will no longer manage an official waitlist.

BGG.CON 2020 badge holders - If you previously bought a ticket for BGG.CON 2020 your admission was already transferred to attend BGG.CON 2021 when we cancelled the event last summer. You should have received a new 2021 confirmation email on June 29, 2020. We will automatically create a badge for you on this system on June 21st and you'll get an email on how to claim it.

However, if your plans have changed and you would like a refund, please do the following:

1. Find the BGG.CON 2021 registration email (Subj. = "BGG.CON 2021 Registration Confirmation").
2. Reply to that email with the addition of "REFUND REQUESTED" either in the subject or the body of the email.
3. DEADLINE for Refund requests - November 1, 2021

Email News Updates We expect to email news updates with information regarding Volunteer SignUps, Badge Transfers, Hotel Information, Exhibitors/Sponsors, Merchandise Pre-Orders, Day One Information, etc. So, please make sure your TTE account is set to allow email from TTE and convention organizers.
