The convention is run off of Tabletop.events, so please have the browser saved on your phone (Nugget will have wi-fi). Do NOT use the tabletop.events app…it is not what we utilize. We will use TTE to send notices during the Convention, announce winners of prizes, changes that are needed. Players can continue to sign up or drop out of games during the convention via TTE.
Check In: GMs will be able to check-in on Friday by 11am, and will be fast-tracked if they are running an early game. Look for a GM line at the beginning of the convention. You are the “faces of RAGECON” and who our attendees will interact with the most. We expect you to represent yourself and us to the best of your ability to ensure that everyone (including yourselves) have a good time.
Below is a link to our behavior policy, registrants have agreed to abide by these terms. Give reminders if needed, and get Staff if behavior persists: PRIVACY - RENO AREA GAMING EXPO We have had VERY few issues with behavior so far.
You should generally have at least 20 minutes to set up for most of your games, make sure you take the time you need. When you are done, please make sure you can tear down in time to allow the next game that is scheduled…if there is one. I will try to have schedules at each table so people can see what table use for that day.
RAGEBUCKS: everyone playing/GMing earns 1 RAGEBUCK/0.5 hour of game. These can be obtained by The Event Coordinator (Brad), Play to Win Coordinator (Anthony), or at the Play to Win library. RPG people can look to Mark, of The Academy, they are running tables of RPGs. You may receive them before, during or after your game, but please make sure people get them.
These are for the raffles out by the registration area and will happen several times a day.
- These are NOT for the play to win area.
- Additional ones are available for sale at registration
- Please return all unused RAGEBUCKS to the appropriate
people. We will be trusting you to do so.
Check-IN: Please try to utilize the E-Tickets that tabletop.events has for each scheduled game. Have the player show you and then they can tap their own phone. Player coming up to fill empty spots don’t have to register to get these. They are used by Staff for tracking and are desired, but not needed.
If a player is late, please do not disrespect the others that are there. You judge the allowed time to start (no more than 5 minutes is recommended, unless you are not ready yourself).
If no one shows up for your game you can:
- Look for players by announcing you have open seats
(table flags should be available) and accept walk-ups
- You may wait, but don’t wait so long you cannot run
your game in the alloted time (10-15 minutes max.)
- Once cancelled, if you have been compensated for your
GM work, please go to the Play to Win area to help
staff the library for your time, if possible. We can
always use the bodies over there. You will take tickets
and ensure they end up in the correct play to win bins
for the game played.
No one signed up for your game yet? - Don’t panic, not everyone signs up ahead of time and we expect hundreds to come that did not sign up at all prior, so having games they can plug into is a HUGE benefit for the convention. Don’t cancel until you have given time for the previous point to play out.
TTE: You can use your tabletop.events to send messages to your players. There should be a function in each of our scheduled games. Please feel free to utilize this to create some excitement, share something that might help speed up learning, like “How to Play” videos you think are good, etc… Players should also be able to message the Host, so please be aware to check in to your emails every so often.
Suggestions from experience: - Please review games you are running to minimize rules checks. I make summary sheets for many of my harder ones to highlight the points I might forget. This really helps!
Promote yourself. If you are running other games and had a great table experience with your players, let them know what else you may be running
If you have any questions, find Staff and ask. Don’t let yourself feel too pressured. This is supposed to be a fun weekend, relax and enjoy.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions….Brad (event.ragecon@gmail.com)
