JOE HACK - Cherusci Ambush

In the 2nd decade of the 1st century AD, Arminius trained the Cherusci after the manner of the Romans and equipped them for the spoils of Teutoburg Wald and prepared to meet the Romans on their own terms. The Romans respond by sending V Alaude across the Rhine. Wanting a 2nd Teutoburg Wald, the Cherusci patiently wait in the forest as the Roman legions march. Suddenly, drums, horns, and battle cries announced the charge of the Cherusci upon the flank of the Roman column.
