US Marines Assault SURIBACHI in “Part 2 of our “IWO TRILOGY” — Paying Honor, Respect & Tribute to the US Marine Corps’ costliest battle & “fiercest - bloodiest fighting of the Pacific War.” Despite air & naval supremacy (& a dozen+ battleships); it all comes down to Marines climbing up and rooting out Japanese defenders in bunkers & tunnels of the mountain, until FINALLY! The Flag went up! (Twice) We’ll start each session with a Commemoration & end w/a Memorial. (See next: IWO CLIMAX 10am Sat)

IWO JIMA 80th Anniversary

Three USMC Divisions invaded with over 80k marines, supported by complete air & naval supremacy provided by USN ships & aircraft. Approximately 20k Japanese with hidden artillery defended fortified bunkers & 11 miles of tunnels. (Only 1% survived).

Engage in a fast playing Operational Level Wargame of this desperate struggle where “ANYTHING Could happen.” Start each session with a Commemoration & ending with a Memorial.
