We are thrilled to have our Gamers-in-Training (Age 4-12) with us at BGG.Spring! This is a great opportunity to play with old and new friends, and we hope they learn lots of new games.

BGG.Spring is a family-friendly event, and we gladly welcome children of all ages to join us for fun and games!! We want to maintain and promote this family atmosphere; however, we also want to minimize distractions and disturbances to everyone. We request that all parents, guardians and children abide by the following set of guidelines:

Guidelines for Children and Parents/Guardians

1. Children must wear their badges and wristbands at all times while attending BGG.Spring.
2. Children's badges must be part of an adult badge purchase and require emergency contact information as part of the badge information.
3. At no time will BGG Events staff or volunteers take responsibility for your children and there will be no babysitting or child-care services provided. Parents and guardians must be with their children who are age 0-12 at all times while at the convention.
4. We’ve designated a Gamers-In-Training Area as an "under 12" area for parents/guardians to bring the kids over for fun activities for the young ones - toy and crafts, LEGO and Heroscape. We’ll have some tables in there as well for you to game while you supervise. Team Geek will be monitoring the room, but they are not responsible for the care and supervision of your children.
5. We feel comfortable allowing children age 13 and up to roam around the convention areas independently, as long as you are comfortable with it as well. We trust that you, as their parents and guardians, are the best qualified to make that decision. We do ask that you or a designated adult still be available onsite at the convention should any issues arise.
6. If your child is crying, screaming, or not enjoying themselves, please escort your child from the gaming areas until they calm down. We are happy to have children in attendance, but we ask parents and guardians to follow this rule so as to not disturb or distract other gamers.
7. Children may not use the game rooms or other areas of the convention center as a playground. The hotel has areas where children can expend their energy (pool, personal hotel rooms, walking path around the hotel, etc.). Please utilize these facilities so the children can burn off their energy.

8. NEW CURFEW - Children of the following ages may not be in the gaming areas after curfew. We ask parents/guardians to please be mindful of their behavior. If you notice your child starting to get tired or acting out, please remove them from the game areas.

   • Ages 0-12 - Curfew @ 10:00pm
   • Ages 13-15 - Curfew @ Midnight

Gamers-In-Training Room Hours

This room will contain fun activities for the young ones - toy and crafts, LEGO and Heroscape. It will be sanitized each night between 9pm and 9am

• A nursing lounge will also be designated for nursing mothers and children.

• In addition to several dedicated breakout areas for certain types of games, we have two open gaming areas - one, where the whole family is welcome and another, for teens (age 16+) and adults. Even in the family room we asked that your kids be supervised and not running around in a disruptive manner.

One final note - we’ve seen reports of an increasing number of incidents of harassment at various geek-related events and conventions the past few years. We just want you to know we will not tolerate any such behavior at BGG.Spring from adults, teens or Gamers-in-Training and we reserve the right to eject anyone from the convention without refund. Please review all Convention Policies, and specifically the Code of Conduct.
