Con on the Cob hosts an auction? Yes, indeed it does, my friend.
It's a pretty swaggy auction, too, chock full (perhaps even overflowing) with a wide assortment of snazzy zazz and jazzy snazz. Here's a place you might find something rare, collectible, or just generally awesome. What sorts of stuff, you ask? Read on...
Here's a general gist of the things that belong in the CotC auction. Just because an item isn't listed here doesn't mean it isn't allowed. Please direct any questions about the auction to Cynthia. She's pretty great.
- Roleplaying games and accessories
- Original artwork and art prints
- Toys and collectibles
- Unusual items and oddities
- Pokemon, Magic the Gathering, and other collectible card games and cards.
- Games, especially rare or hard to find boardgames
- Basically anything of a geeky, horrific, or fantastical nature
Submitting Items
- Bring your thangs to the Auction Room, which is located in the Atrium across from the arcade, during the submission hours listed below.
- Check them in with Auction staff, who will assist with completing bid sheets and positioning your goods in the room.
- Each participant is limited to 25 or fewer items in order to make sure we have room for everybody.
- Items should be listed at a minimum bid you would be comfortable selling them for (minimum $1).
- Auction staff may further the limit per participant or the overall number of items in the Auction for logistical purposes or to prevent redundancy.
Bidding on Items
- This is a silent auction, which means bidders place their bid amounts on bid sheets, with each subsequent bidder bidding a higher amount than is presented on the line above it. Bidders may return to increase their maximum bid. Whoever has the highest bid listed on the sheet when bidding ends Saturday at 6:30pm wins the item and is responsible for providing payment when the auction is over.
- Bid sheets include the bidder's name, phone number, and bid amount.
- Auction doors will close at 6:30pm on Saturday and will reopen soon after with all winning bids highlighted.
- All won items must be paid for and picked up Saturday evening by 9:30pm. Winners who do not show up to pay for their items will be prohibited from bidding in future CotC auctions.
- Please be honorable and respectful of others. We trust you to return Saturday evening to see if you won.
Payments and Payouts
- Payouts for people who put items in the auction will be conducted Sunday from 11am until 1pm. Auction participants must pick up all unsold items at this time.
- CASH is preferred but we accept payment by credit card, check, PayPal, CashApp, and Venmo as well.
- To reiterate: all items must be paid for by 9:30pm on Saturday.
- Items left behind by Sunday at 1pm become the property of Con on the Cob unless previous arrangements have been made between the seller and the Auction Wenches (Cynthia and Biagia).
- Con on the Cob retains 15% of auction proceeds.
