Summer Knights Online Charity Con

Good Games for a Good Cause

Good Games for a Good Cause is a group of long-time online gamers that came together last year to run RPGs in support of charity as part of Gen Con Online. This year, you can find us on Discord organizing Summer Knights Online Charity Con in support of World Central Kitchen with the assistance of our friends at RPG Alliance Con and Games on Demand Online. We hope you join us for a weekend of good gaming for a good cause.

RPG ALLIANCE CON

RPG ALLIANCE CON (https://rpgalliance.wordpress.com/) is a Grass Roots, Inclusive, Tabletop RPG Gaming convention that runs tabletop role playing game events using safety tools, like the X-Card, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and welcome EVERYONE and EVERY KIND of TTRPG game! We were founded in 2018 by the Queer Questing & Allies TTRPG Calgary Meetup Group (where we continue to run monthly TTRPG games), went online in 2020, and continued hybrid online/in-person through 2023. We fundraise for various charities during our events, and through our Diversity-Equity-Inclusion (DEI) Initiative we support Game Runners from communities that have been disadvantaged in our hobby. We firmly believe gaming is for everyone, and everyone should feel safe to game.

November 2024 will be our 7th annual con in person, and for our wider community we've decided to join forces with other like-minded, safe, and inclusive online TTRPG communities to support a broader online event in August. We're very much looking forward to being a part of Summer Knights Online!

Games on Demand Online

Games on Demand Online is the virtual branch of Games on Demand ( https://www.indiegamesondemand.org/) , also known as Indie Games Explosion. Many of our members are independent game designers as well as game runners and players. We welcome independent games of (almost) all kinds (notably except for "Everyone is Seagulls," because four hours of screaming in a shared room is unfriendly to your game-neighbors).

The online branch usually holds 2 events a year, once in February and once in August. Lynette, the catwrangler for GoDO, is also a disabled gamer who presents on how to make games more accessible to people with disabilities, and she encourages everyone proposing events for Summer Knights to make their events accessibility-friendly, inclusive, and welcoming.

We're excited to be joining teams with Good Games for a Good Cause in order to offer more fun for everyone!
