Transportation to/from the ship

Generally, you are responsible for getting to/from the ship. Fly, drive, etc.

Flying In/Out - You can arrange with the cruise line to have a charter bus pick you up at the airport and deliver you to the cruise port. And you can arrange the same outbound transportation as well. This option is available for purchase here: Port Transfers. Please read the details for this merch item completely so we can get the transfer arranged for you.

Driving In/Out - If you are driving in, there is usually a monitored parking lot for you to park your vehicle during the week. There is a fee that is handled through the port, not the cruise line. For this cruise, the Port of Southampton will have information regarding this.

We will also be arranging a shuttle transfer from our group hotel, the Hyatt Place London City East, to the port. As soon as we have the details, you will be able to purchase this directly through the Merch Link. We will not however be arranging a group shuttle after the cruise._ We anticipate most will want to go straight to the airport, and that can be accomplished by purchasing a Departure Transfer via RCCL. If you need to get to another destination you will need to arrange your own taxi / Uber / Lyft.

Wifi

Wifi on the ship is generally not freely available though you can purchase an internet access package from the cruise line. The speeds are generally slower than home, so don't plan on streaming regularly (though the recent upgrade to StarLink on some RCCL ships is improving that). However, the speed is usually sufficient for viewing email and internet browsing. You can purchase internet packages through Royal Caribbean's site, or get a discounted rate for our group here.

Travel Protection/Insurance

Spiel@SEA group members from the United States, except the state of New York, wanting Travel Protection must purchase this through QwyxEvents. This cannot be purchased from Royal Caribbean directly because of our group contract.

NOTE: New York state residents and international guests who wish to purchase the product may visit Aon to enroll directly with Aon Affinity.

Travel protection, if purchased, must be purchased for EACH and every guest in the same cabin. Pricing is dependent upon the cabin type and the number of people in a cabin, and it can range from $59 per person up to $279 per person or more.

This price of $10 per cabin is just our processing fee - after purchasing this item, call (214-399-6559) or email events@qwyxtech.com us directly to get an exact quote for your cabin.

Policy details can be found HERE.

Dining/Drink Packages

Water and juice are available at all meals for no additional charge. Soft drinks, alcoholic drinks, etc. are available with the purchase of a Drink Package. Drink Packages can be purchased through Royal Caribbean's site once your booking has been confirmed.

Dining Packages - If you would like to dine in one of the specialty restaurants, you may purchase a Dining Package through Royal Caribbean's site. However, this is not required. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and snacks are widely available and included in the General Dining areas.

Excursions

Once your booking has been made and confirmed with the cruise line, you can purchase shore excursions directly from Royal Caribbean.

For our smaller group on this sailing I'm inclined to just say that everyone find something that interests you and we'll share experiences once we get back onboard together. Feel free to discuss in our thread on BGG or our private Facebook Group.

I'll list here the excursions Kristine and I have booked if you want to join us.

Pre-Cruise Activities

Here are some of the Paris activities that Kristine and I have booked. We are using a website called "viator.com" and you can make your reservations there for the same tours and times to join us.

London - I am arranging a West End Tour for Saturday morning. This will include a coach bus with tour guide from our hotel to and through the West End of London, passing by the houses of parliment, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and other sites, with a stop and guided tour of Westminster Abbey.

After this tour there's two options - dropping off at the Tower of London for a guided tour that afternoon, or heading straight back to the hotel. The Tower of London is right at one mile from our hotel so we'll easily walk back after the tour.
