To ensure the safety of all Gamicon guests, attendees, vendors and staff, we must adhere to the current policies of the city, county, and state, as well as our own guidelines. We will be utilizing the following guidelines to facilitate safety for all in attendance at Gamicon.
Convention hours for this year will be decreased: 7 AM-12:30 AM for staff, with activities for attendees from 8 AM-midnight.
We will be asking screening questions of all staff and attendees when picking up your convention badge, much like the questions you may get asked at work.
- Do you have a fever or shortness of breath?
- Do you have a loss of taste or smell, new cough, or a sore throat?
- Have you or someone you have been exposed to or diagnosed with COVID-19 in the past 2 weeks?
- Are you waiting for test results from within the past 48 hours?
If you answer yes to any of the above questions, we request that you stay home.
If you develop symptoms after passing the initial screening, we request that you return home and consult your physician. We will not know if you have developed symptoms, but trust you to do the right thing to keep your fellow attendees safe.
We will require masks covering the nose and mouth in all hotel public spaces, as well as convention spaces.
Masks may be removed for brief periods for eating or drinking, in public spaces (please note that most Gamicon convention spaces have a "No Food or Drink policy" Allowable drinks are sealable water or pop bottles)
Panel presenters who are more than 6' from attendees may remove their masks during panels, for accessibility concerns for lip reading. Panelists will socially distance. Panel audience will be required to wear masks. GM's and Judges of games that will be within 6' of their players will be required to mask.
There will be touchless hand sanitizer stations throughout the hotel as well as hand sanitizer available at various staffed convention locations- registration, dealers, info desk, volunteers, and programming rooms.
We strongly encourage social distancing, in accordance with current guidelines. Please note that the hotel has a minimum safe social distance of 3 feet. We encourage greater distance (6 feet or more) whenever possible.
We will use plexiglass barriers at the convention’s Registration, Volunteers desks with use in other areas as needed.
The hotel’s elevator capacity is 3 persons at a time, or the number of people in your group.
There will be disposable masks available for attendees, as needed.
Room Parties are not sanctioned by Gamicon this year.
