Meet our vendors and admire their wares in-person before and between your games: during sign-in 10-11am and during the break 3-4pm. Vendors may also be available during the game slots (if they're not playing games!), but inquire early as they may not be there after 4pm.

Welcome to Borders of The Realm. I'm a Calgary-based TTRPG player, map-maker, terrain-builder, and miniatures printer.

Maybe you are a Game Master with a lot of ideas, and a vision for your world. Maybe you want to show your world to your players outside the theatre of the mind, but you find yourself short of time.

Perhaps you find drawing and crafting too daunting, or you think you aren't talented enough (but you are, I promise you). It could be you are looking for someone who can put paint to foam, or pencil to paper, to bring forth your dreamland of adventure.

Blackthorn Brushworks

Welcome to Blackthorn Brushworks! I have been painting miniatures for just under a year. In an attempt to get better, I offer commissions at an unbelievably reasonable rate. Local pick up and drop off available.

My name is Jeff Giroux. After spending years collecting and playing board games, it became apparent that the group would be able to meet up sporadically, at best. Shift work, a wonderful daughter, and balancing the time constraints of my friends became our biggest obstacles. Instead of getting rid of it all, I decided, in late 2023, to begin painting the miniatures I have amassed over the years, and for better or worse, became obsessed. I now paint anything that comes my way, but I tend to gravitate towards anything with a fantasy and/or grimdark setting. Some of my most painted miniatures (so far) are Dark Souls, Dungeons and Dragons, and a kickstarter game called Chronicle X. I've also done three separate dioramas incorporating miniatures for members of my family, and am currently working on a Lord of the Rings diorama as a Christmas gift.
