In this workshop we'll use a 75mm figure to learn how to portray different materials on a model. Is a piece of fabric coarsely woven or smooth and silky? How do you convey the difference between new leather boots and a worn leather belt? Through the use of texture and light, we'll explore how to represent different types of materials. This will help you create figures that are not only more realistic, but also more visually dynamic and interesting.
You will be provided with a 75mm figure (sculpt commissioned for this class), not yet available outside of this workshop. Students should bring their own brushes. Paints and wet palettes will be available in the class, however students can bring their own if they prefer.
