RULES OF EVENT GOER CONDUCT
Everyone comes to an event like this to have fun. We encourage everyone to have a blast, and expect some basic rules to be followed. All attendees must dress for the event in a manner that is suitable for young children to view. If you are dressing in character, or for cosplay your costume must meet these basic requirements.
WizardCon actively operates under the belief that everyone deserves a full convention experience free of harassment. This applies to all attendees, regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity/expression, religious affiliation, disability, physical appearance, body size, or other identifying factor.
Harassment, whether from attendees, WizardCon staff, exhibitors, guests, hotel staff, or any others associated with the convention, will not be tolerated in any form.
What Constitutes Harassment at WizardCon?
Harassment, as per definition at WizardCon, includes:
SMOKING is prohibited in the event location and this includes the use of vaping. Attendees caught will be asked to leave and they will not be allowed back into the venue.
FIREARMS Firearms are prohibited, this includes those who have a CPL or carry permit. We believe that this is an event that has no use for live firearms, this includes firearms that are not loaded. If you are caught with one you will be asked to leave the event. This is not a political stance, this is simply a policy to ensure the protection of all.
If you have a FAKE firearm as part of your costume event staff will require it by Michigan law to have an orange tip, and event staff will check and verify that it is a prop / airsoft / fake weapon. If you are bringing an airsoft weapon into the convention, you may not have any bb's in it or Magazine or battery. Being caught with an airsoft weapon with batter will be treated as a real firearm.
Swords must be peace tied, and dull edged. Other prop swords, maces and such are welcome.
THIEVERY Anyone caught stealing games, cards or other individuals belongings will have the police called on them, and will be barred from the convention. The gaming and vendor areas are heavily video taped, and venue staff have all cameras operating on site. If someone accuses you of stealing, or if you feel you have been stolen from, immediately involve event staff, so we may take the proper steps.
GAMBLING There is NO gambling at all allowed on games at WizardCon in the gaming room, vendor rooms, open areas, nooks or private convention rooms. However, what you do in your private hotel room is your own business.
