Save the world from the comfort of your own home! Matt Leacock adapted the tournament version of Pandemic: Survival into a version compatible with distance gaming. He test drove the results on his blog: Pandemic Survival Over Zoom! – Rules and Tips — Matt Leacock Games

Now this is your chance to compete head-to-head with other teams to see who can be the first ones to save the world! The winner of this virtual tournament will be the first team to find the cures to all four diseases OR the last team left alive.

  • A team is either one or two people. If two people, they should be in the same physical space sharing one video connection as they will need to talk to each other easily to coordinate their turns.
  • A team must be familiar with the use of Zoom. Zoom details will be sent to participants 24 hours before this event. You do not need the camera to point at the board. You can share your smiling faces, or if bandwidth is an issue, you can conduct the game using only audio. (It’s easier if you have video, though.)
  • A team = one seat in this TableTop Event, since two people will be sharing one video connection and will play together as a unit
  • Players need one copy of the base game of Pandemic, and should be familiar with the game already. Roles and special events will come from the base game only (i.e. no expansions)
  • Players should also have a white board or piece of paper to track their cures and outbreaks that they can show on camera. Teams will be asked to show their cures/outbreaks between turns so they can track the progress of other teams
  • Turns will be TIMED: 2 minutes for the first turn and 1 min 15 sec for subsequent turns.
  • I will be the game master the tournament but not playing. As game master, I will have control over a single city deck and Infection deck, and tell all teams what to draw simultaneously. I will also act as time keeper for player turns.
