TokenCon 2026

Game Library Organization

The TokenCon Board Game Library is broken down into 4 separate sections, as follows:

  1. A "NEW" section, where you can find board games released in the US in the last 12 months, which were not already available to play at the prior TokenCon. These games all have a color-coded QR code sticker (which varies by year) to give a visible indication that the game is new.

  2. A "Play-to-Win" (PTW) section, where you can find all the games that are part of our Play-to-Win program. Each of these games will be given away to one of the attendees who played it, based on a random drawing on the final day of the convention. Their QR code sticker will be white, but will clearly state "PTW" on the sticker.

  3. The main library section is where you will find the bulk of the library, including most of the games from the BGG top 500. It is organized in alphabetical order.
  4. The small games section is an area dedicated to games in smaller packages, which would be hard to find if mingled with the main library. There is nothing specific on the QR code sticker to differentiate small box games from the main library, as their box size should be sufficient to make it clear which section it belongs in.

Gamer-in-Training Library

In addition, there is a separate library of games stored in the "Gamer-in-Training" room, containing games specifically targeted to younger gamers and including many of the traditional games a lot of people grew up with, like monopoly, scrabble, and clue. These games do not require checking out and we operate this library on a trust system.

Hot Games

Games being featured as Hot Games may or may not be included in the game library for check out, in addition to the games permanently out in the Hot Games area. This depends on availability of the game and perceived popularity.

Finding Games

We have been asked at various points if we could organize the library by theme, or player count, or weight/complexity, length of play time, etc. It would be impossible to physically organize the library across so many different categories at the same time, but there are way to find a game that suits your needs using one of the online, searchable copies of the library. Check out these links:

This tool provides a searchable TokenCon library list. You can click on a column heading, like weight, to sort by that category. A second click on the same heading will change from an ascending to a descending sort, and vice versa.

There is also a filter option, which has many fields you can filter on, to easily find games between weights for a specific player count, for example. You can even filter by a specific mechanic (e.g. worker placement) or category (e.g. economic).

This is the official library list, integrated with attendee badge numbers. It has fewer sort and filter options, allowing sort by name, whether or not it is a PTW, and by publisher. However, it can also show you whether or not the game is currently available in the library or checked out to somebody else.

This is a copy of the TokenCon library stored on the BGG website. For anyone familiar with this website, it provides another option for sorting and filtering the list to find what you are looking for, although it requires a little more understanding to use effectively.
