The Holiday Gaming Thing at UHCL

is a gaming event located in the Bayou Building at the University of Houston - Clear Lake that is focused on casual gaming as a break from the rush of the holiday season. It is a joint venture of Game Theory Events and Empire Central held with the support of UHCL.

Convention Hours

• Friday 10am - midnight
• Saturday 10am - 8pm

Costs

• Admission:
  • $5 per person per day
  • Free for UHCL faculty, students, and staff with ID
  • Admission is only available at the door (both cash and credit cards will be accepted)
  • Also, because one of our owners is quirky and has 28 versions of Trivial Pursuit, be prepared to answer a trivia question as you pay your admission ;-)
• Parking:
  • Friday: free after noon. Before noon, the ParkMobile app may be used to pay for parking
  • Saturday: free all day

Campus Policies

The university has asked that all of our attendees abide by the following:

• Face masks are encouraged for everyone regardless of vaccination status
• UHCL is a non-smoking campus
• Alcohol is not permitted at this event

Open Gaming and Game Library

We will have board game libraries provided by Empire Central and Game Theory Events. However, if there is a specific game you are wanting to play, you are welcome to bring your own games.

Rise of the Empire GT

A Warhammer 40,000 Grand Tournament will be held in conjunction with The Holiday Gaming Thing. For details on it (cost, hours, etc), please see their website or Facebook page.
