ShushCon 2023

ShushCon23 runs March 10-13, 2023 at the Waccamaw Neck Branch Library in Pawleys Island SC.

Registration for ShushCon23 is open, as is games submissions. We are looking forward to a great weekend of games, and to make it better we'd like to know you are coming, and what you'd like to play.

Any proceeds from people not using the code for checkout will be used to support ShushCon, buy snacks for the staff during the event, or expand the games library at the Waccamaw Neck Branch Library. But please use the code, so we don't have to do extra paperwork.

If you would like to make donations to ShushCon, or the Friends of the Waccamaw Library (FOWL), you may do so by visiting the FOWL store or donating at the snack station during the convention.

ShushCon Trade Day - Laser Cutting and Engraving

This year’s Trade Day workshop is open to everyone, but is geared towards sharing the basics of using laser cutters/engravers with teachers, librarians and other out of school time professionals.

Trade Day activities will focus on the care and use of CO2 lasers, like our Thunder Laser and Glowforge, but will also cover the value of fiber lasers and the potential dangers of diode lasers. Participants will also create their own personalized laser engraved ornaments and explore other laser activities.

The scheduled presentation and activities should be complete by noon, but participants will be able to continue using the laser to create items until 1:00.
