Artists are professionals too. We separate them out because, without art, games generally aren't appealing to people. But artists, editors, copywriters, marketers, social media magicians, and other service providers all do the same thing at Protospiel: they meet designers who need their skills.
Designers bring games that are still in development, which is exactly when they're looking for help. Your table is a chance to be there when they are.
Table blocks: Friday 7-11 PM. Saturday 9 AM-1 PM, 2-6 PM, 7-11 PM. Sunday 9 AM-1 PM, 2-6 PM. There's an hour between blocks. If you have the same table in back-to-back blocks, you can stay through the transition.
Pick only the slots your badge includes. If you pick too many, you'll be removed from all of your slots until it's squared away.
Because table space is limited, we have a limited number of Artist / Professional badges. If you're planning to come, don't wait.
Bring some sort of contact information, such as a business card or a QR code.
Doing work for "exposure" doesn't feed someone or put a roof over their head. Everyone doing professional services, including artists, deserves to be properly compensated. We ask designers to keep that in mind when they stop by your table.
Protospiels aren't selling events, so there are no vendor tables, and selling products at the event is prohibited. That includes prints. Your table is for samples and for conversation. If a designer wants to work with you, exchange contact information and talk about the details after the weekend.
Start at the For Game Designers page, and check the Prototypes list to see which games will be there. It's a good way to find games that fit your skills before you arrive.
