All attendees (designers, play testers, publishers, guests, volunteers, and staff) are expected to abide by a set of policies which are in compliance with United States law and the general policies of the venue.
Badges – Your badge must be worn at all times while within convention areas.
Table Space – Table space is a shared resource among all participating designers. Attendees may not set up a game and occupy a table for the entire day. Should you set up your game and leave it unattended, we retain the right to move your game to allow others use of the space.
Alcohol – Alcohol consumption is allowed in accordance with all pertinent laws and regulations. Disorderly conduct, including but not limited to drunkenness, brawling, or disruptive behavior, will be addressed at the discretion of the convention organizers and venue staff.
Smoking – Smoking is strictly prohibited within the venue, in adherence to both venue policies and local laws.
Compliance with Staff Instructions – All attendees are expected to comply with instructions and guidance provided by Protospiel staff members and venue employees. Failure to do so may result in expulsion from the convention without a refund.
Lost or Stolen Items – Protospiel cannot be held responsible for lost or stolen personal belongings.
Inappropriate Content – The presentation of explicitly sexual or excessively graphic content is considered inappropriate for this event. We kindly request that all participants exercise discretion when presenting themes that may be deemed offensive by other attendees.
While we recommend that all convention attendees be fully vaccinated, vaccination is not a requirement for entry. Additionally, the use of masks is not compulsory, but we encourage and welcome their usage.
In the interest of safeguarding the well-being of all convention participants, we kindly request that if you are feeling unwell or displaying symptoms of any illness, you refrain from attending the event. This consideration is essential to protect the health and safety of all attendees. Furthermore, attendees who appear unwell while on-site may be asked to leave as a precautionary measure.
We reserve the right to modify these policies before the refund deadline, particularly if there is a significant increase in local community health risk levels leading up to the event. We sincerely hope that changes will not be necessary and that all attendees will have a safe and enjoyable convention experience.
Protospiel is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all attendees. We do not tolerate any form of harassment towards guests, staff members, volunteers, fellow attendees, or any other individuals present at the convention. Any violation of this policy may result in immediate expulsion from the convention and the revocation of your badge, without a refund.
The convention reserves the right to remove any signage or individuals displaying or engaging in behavior that is deemed offensive or in disagreement with its policies and philosophy. This includes, but is not limited to, the promotion of hate, religious or anti-religious proselytization, unauthorized solicitation, anti-feminism, or similar content.
Harassment encompasses various forms of inappropriate behavior, including but not limited to: offensive verbal comments related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, political affiliation, body appearance, race, religion, or gender identity; sexual images in public spaces; deliberate intimidation; stalking; following; harassing photography or recording; inappropriate physical contact; and unwelcome sexual attention. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.
If you, as an attendee, experience or witness harassment, we encourage you to take action. You may choose to inform the offender that their behavior is unwelcome and should cease immediately. If you do not feel comfortable addressing the situation directly, please promptly contact a Protospiel staff member, who will address your concerns.
