Attending Publishers

This is a list of publishers who will be attending Protospiel MN and are potentially looking for new games. The description below specifies what kinds of games they're looking for.

Paverson Games Medium weight hobby strategy games (2.5-3.5 in BGG weight), with a heavy focus on the integration between theme and mechanics.
Left Justified Studio & Prolific Games Left Justified Studio & Prolific Games - We're seeking gateway board games in the $30-40 MSRP and 30-45 minute play time ranges, and card games in the $15-20 MSRP and 10-30 minute play time ranges. Games with at least one extremely distinctive gameplay or marketing feature are especially sought; that’s what it takes to stand out in the current marketplace of tabletop releases. Re-theming of acquired designs is highly likely. If you wish, email jeff at left dash justified dot com in advance of Protospiel if you’d like to set up a scheduled time to discuss a particular prototype.
Adam's Apple Games Adam's Apple Games - We like to see unique components that deliver new types of gameplay and appreciate when designers have done their homework on the theme.
CGE CGE - We are more than happy to accept your game submissions! We are mainly focused on medium-heavy and heavy euro games with unique mechanisms and twists. We want our games to be funny, original, and without violence. Typical games in our portfolio are Galaxy Trucker, Alchemists, Tzolk’in or Lost Ruins of Arnak. Average play time for many of our games is 60-180 minutes. We are very interested in games with these attributes, but we are open to other types of games as well - party games, games for children, etc. We aren’t looking for RPG games, games that are too similar to any existing game, or games that plays in less than 20 minutes.

About Protospiel

What Is A Protospiel Event? If you are a game designer looking to get professional level feedback from other designers there is no better place to get that feedback. Games in all stages of completion are welcome. You’ll have the opportunity to play test your designs many times through-out the weekend. And the friendships you’ll make will last a lifetime.

If you’re a gamer who likes to try out new things, then Protospiel is also likely the best experience you’ll have. You’ll get to see dozens if not hundreds of new designs in a single weekend. Plus you’ll get to shape them before they hit the shelves of stores or the pages of Kickstarter.

How does it work? Protospiel uses a free-flowing, attendee-driven format: show up, introduce yourself, sit at a table, play some games. There is no formal structure to the event, other than having a room filled with tables for everyone to use. Of course, taking time to network, talk shop, grab a meal, etc., with those you meet is highly encouraged as well. (Check out the great Protospiel 101 list, put together by Scot Eaton, at the bottom of this page.)

What games will be there? Once you are registered, visit the Prototypes page to add the games you will be bringing and see the list of the games others have already added. You can even "like" the prototypes you are interested in seeing during the weekend, and leave playtester feedback after you've played them.
