Omaha Gaming Convention 2026

OGC Event Policies

Children & Minors – When children pick up their badges, they must be accompanied by a parent or designated guardian. A designated guardian must have written permission from the minor’s parent or legal guardian. All guardians must be eighteen or over and registered attendees of OGC. All children must have a parent or guardian on the premises at all times.

Children age 12 and under

All children age twelve and under must be accompanied at all times by a parent or guardian who is a registered attendee of OCG.

Minors aged 13 to 17

All minors, thirteen to seventeen, must have a parent or guardian in the convention space at all times. All parents and guardians must be registered attendees of OCG.

Pets are not allowed in common areas, including the meeting spaces, fitness center, or pool. Please contact OGC Staff regarding registered service animals.

NO Day-Passes are available. The registration fee is the same whether you come for one day or the whole convention. Special NOTE: No badges will be sold on-site.

Badges are required to enter the convention, play in the open gaming area, borrow games from the library, and visit the Exhibit Hall.

Badges are non-sharable.

Personal Belongings Left on Tables - As you are playing games, we ask that your personal belongings be placed underneath your gaming table as opposed to the aisleways and neighboring tables. This allows for emergency exit access and maximizes open gaming tables available for attendees.

If, as Team OGC is counting open tables, it is determined that personal belongings have been unattended on a table or in the aisles for an extraordinary amount of time, the belongings will be taken to the Registration Desk, and a note from OGC Events Staff will be put on the table where the belongings were left.

Thank you for your understanding and help in keeping as many tables as possible open and available for gaming.

Drinking – If you drink, don’t drive! Please have a designated driver. Individuals must be 21 to consume alcohol in the United States. This also applies to our international visitors. Serving alcohol to minors is against United States law. Individuals who appear to be intoxicated will not be allowed into the convention space.

Special Guests – Special Guests have taken time out of their busy schedules to attend our show. While all of our guests welcome meeting fans and players, please respect their privacy during meals or while they are in the middle of a game. They’d love to talk to you, but not at the expense of the gamers are their tables or while enjoying a quiet meal. Please remember they are working and deserve downtime just like our attendees do.

Smoking/Vaping - No Smoking/Vaping allowed inside the Hotel.

Weapons – No attendee will be permitted to carry any kind of functional projectile weapon. This includes individuals who possess a weapons permit or concealed weapons permit. Anyone found in possession of such a weapon will immediately have their attendance revoked and escalated to the Hotel staff. Individuals caught in the illegal possession of a functioning projectile weapon will be reported and turned over to the proper authorities. All other items that could be used as a weapon MUST be peacebonded.

Theft – Any attendee caught in the act of shoplifting or stealing will be handed over to the authorities, have their attendance revoked, and refused service in all future OGC events. No exceptions.

Sleeping in Convention Areas – Do NOT sleep in the convention space or public areas.

Code of Conduct

We believe that games are for everyone. We are committed to fostering a fun, inclusive, and safe environment for all attendees, volunteers, publishers, media representatives, partner companies, and staff (collectively, "gamers"), free from discrimination for any reason, including age, body size, disability, gender expression, gender identity, nationality, physical appearance, race, religious beliefs or background, sexual orientation, or other differences.

This code of conduct outlines our expectations for gamers' behavior and the consequences for unacceptable behavior. We invite all gamers to help us ensure that our events are a safe and positive experience for everyone.

Expected Behavior

All gamers are expected to be considerate and respectful toward fellow gamers. This includes, but is not limited to:

Unacceptable Behavior

Unacceptable behaviors include, but are not limited to:

Consequences for Unacceptable Behavior

We reserve the right to deny badge purchases for anyone we deem to have engaged in unacceptable behavior, whether that be at one of our events or any other board game industry event, or simply when made aware of such behavior in any circumstances. We will refund and cancel such badge purchases if made aware after purchase, but before the event begins.

If you do not share our goal of making board gaming a fun and safe space for all gamers, you are not welcome at our events.

We reserve the right to eject, without refund, from our contracted meeting spaces anyone who has engaged in unacceptable behavior at one of our events.

Harassment Guidelines

Our events are friendly and fun places where the community, staff, and special guests can interact. Our community is always growing, and we've come up with a few ground rules to consider when attending.

There are all kinds of gamers attending our events. Using derogatory labels for other gamers can be hurtful and isolate others who enjoy different styles of play. Disagreements are bound to happen. If you find yourself in a debate, focus on challenging the idea, rather than the other people in the conversation. Remember that there's another person on the other side of the table. Please help us keep it fun!

Kids are Present

Our events are friendly to all gamers, and gamers of all ages will be playing games too!

Harassment

Do not abuse, defame, harass, threaten, intimidate, or stalk others while attending our event. Community members should feel welcome while they're attending.

Baiting

Making comments solely to provoke a strong negative reaction or conflict does not contribute to the inviting place we'd like our community to be.

Profanity/Vulgar Speech

While certain language may not be offensive to you, please consider that some words and phrases may have a completely different effect on someone else.

Malicious Speech

Comments that contain content endorsing hatred or violence based on age, disability, ethnicity, gender, race, religion, sexuality, or for any other reason are not welcome at our events.

Impersonation

Claiming to be other community members to obtain admittance to our event is considered harassment and fraud. When this is discovered, the attendee will be required to remove themselves from the event and risk permanent ban from future events.

Spam

Spam can include placing advertisements/flyers that have not been pre-approved by the Staff. This is not allowed.

Illegal Activity

Do not advocate or disclose intent to commit illegal activities while attending our event. This includes (but is not limited to) activities that encourage fraud, piracy, or violence.

Remember that the above guidelines are not hard and fast rules for every situation that may arise. These guidelines are subject to change as necessary.

Violating any of these guidelines may result in an attendee's removal, temporary suspension, or permanent removal from the event and any of our future events.

If you have a question regarding any portion of these guidelines, please contact a staff member.

Reporting Unacceptable Behavior

If you are subject to unacceptable behavior, notice that someone else is being subject to unacceptable behavior, or have concerns that this Code of Conduct or the Harassment Guidelines are not being followed, notify event Staff or email any of the following as soon as possible.

In some cases, unacceptable behavior may stop if you clearly say "No" or "Please leave me alone," or simply leave the situation. In these cases, we would appreciate it if a Staff member is still informed to help us identify any repeat offenders.

OGC Events Staff

Do not engage the offender.

Our Staff will take all necessary steps to assist participants in feeling safe, including imposing consequences for unacceptable behavior and making sure that participants feel safe during the event. We will record a report of any incidents. Incident reports will remain confidential with the exception of criminal matters, which we will report to law enforcement. However, we will take into account any concerns you may have about involving law enforcement.

Health & Safety Policies

Personal Health and Safety are of extreme importance for our Events, and while we take care to handle some things, most aspects are related to personal choices and how they affect others.

We respectfully request the following guidelines:

Take Care of Yourself - Eat, Sleep, Hydrate regularly, and if you need some downtime, take it.

The current, slightly tongue-in-cheek, convention wisdom is the 3-2-1 Rule - 3 hours of sleep per day, 2 meals per day, and 1 shower per day at a minimum.

Health Concerns - You and your doctor are the best judges of how best to participate among people based on your current health and wellness; however, if your issues have the potential to impact other attendees, we ask you to take precautions to respect others' ability to participate, such as the following:

Pay Attention to your surroundings - Be aware of the time of day/night, who you are with, where exits are, etc.

The EVEN Hotel Omaha Downtown - Old Market is located in downtown Omaha, near the Old Market. There may be many additional people walking in and out of the hotel at all times of the day/night that may not be related to our convention. Please be watchful of your surroundings and who is nearby.

Safety relates not only to the people not associated with the convention, but also with the attendees. Per the Code of Conduct, if you are with an attendee that you feel uncomfortable with, please let a member of Team OGC or an OGC Staff member know.

Ask for Help - If you need assistance, ask.

If you need help, please reach out to a member of Team OGC or an OGC Staff Member, and we will be happy to assist.
