The winter days may be short, but the convention runs for eleven hours each day (thirteen on Saturday!) with lots of opportunities for board gaming and roleplaying! George Fox University is again hosting us in the beautiful and spacious Canyon Commons.
We will be extending the convention 2 more hours to 9PM on Saturday for this convention.
As a sub-theme of the convention this year, we invite participants to host board game tables related to the American Revolution.
We look forward to bringing together board game beginners, enthusiasts, young and old for a fun and exciting weekend of gaming and socializing.
We again hope to hold a board game giveaway. Everyone who purchases a badge before the Thursday, January 29, deadline will be automatically entered into a board game raffle! One brand new game for each class of badge holder – full weekend, Saturday only, and Sunday only – will be given away.
Coming Soon.
By registering, you agree adhere to the Newberg Game Con Code of Conduct. Registration is done online through this website. You will need a Tabletop.Events account to be able to purchase your badge(s). If you don't have one already, you can create one here: Create/Manage Tabletop.Events Account. By registering, you will secure your spot at the convention and receive a badge to access the convention hall, as well as exclusive perks at local businesses.
A limited number of George Fox students attend free! Once we open registration please free free to Contact hobbygamesofnewberg@gmail.com or paulandrewotto@gmail.com for a discount code before you register!
We will be looking for volunteers to help with the registration desk and game library.
If you're approved as a volunteer, you'll receive free admission for the day you fill a shift PLUS $2 off a second day that you attend. If you fill two shifts on the same day, you get that day and the other free (but no other discounts). We will refund any badges already purchased. You ALSO get a blue staff t-shirt (different from the convention t-shirts)!
We do require that volunteers can meet the expectations for the two positions. Using the convention computer and answering questions regarding the con is required for the registration desk, and we ask that game library attendants have wide familiarity with available board games (but you don't need to know how to play all of them!)
This convention is a mix of scheduled events and open gaming. This means you can sign up for an existing event, set up a game at an empty table, or look for an orange cone, which signals that an open space is available at a game someone else is running.
Most RPGs are handled as scheduled events. This means if you are interested in playing an RPG, you can sign up for an event after it is listed here under events. If you are interested in running a scheduled RPG event, once registration is open please submit an event application.

George Fox University Library helps sponsor this event with a portion of their game library. This is supplemented by various local gamers and members of Hobby Games of Newberg. You are welcome to also bring your own games to play.
You may bring your own food and beverages into the convention space, but out of respect for the exclusive rights of the campus food service, you may not have have food delivered from outside vendors.
Stay tuned for updates on available food service on campus.
Discounts at local eateries will be also be available (details coming).
Show your badge at the local vendors during the convention days and get discounts on food or drink. Check the link above to see which vendors are working with us this time around (this list will be updated as we approached the convention dates).
Onsite game vendors coming soon.
In order for everyone to have a positive, safe, and fun experience the following polices will be in place:
