ICON is an annual science fiction, fantasy, and speculative fiction convention held in the Iowa City region since 1975
ICON returns to its origins this year in Iowa City!
Join your geeky friends for ICON 49.5: The Half Season, to celebrate science fiction, fantasy, and speculative fiction. The convention is all day Saturday, October 11, with some optional activities the night of Friday, October 10. Programming will include panels, a Traveling Vendor Tour, fan chats, book readings, and more.
Attendees with hotel rooms are encouraged to host room events during the day and into the evening. Room events are up to your creative mind, but perhaps readings, movie watching, board gaming, merch sales, art shows, or parties. Surprise us!
The ICON staff and membership are dedicated to creating an open, accepting, and safe place for all attendees.
