Food and Beverage

Outside food and drink is allowed so you can order delivery or bring in food from a restaurant, but ice chests and similar food/drink storage devices are not allowed in the building (you’ll have to leave those in your car).

No alcohol is allowed at GTEX.

Things to avoid

All of the following will result in expulsion from GTEX without refund:

• Violating any federal, state, or local laws (note that our venue, the Gilruth, is located on federal property).
• Violating any facility rules or GTEX policies.
• Failure to comply with lawful instructions from GTEX staff or security personnel.
• Threatening persons or property.
• Abusive language.
• Deliberately or aggressively damaging persons or property.
• Endangering the safety of those at the convention site, including oneself.
• Harassing others in any way.

Please report any violations, concerns, or problems to GTEX staff, show management, or the registration desk.

Harassment

GTEX is a harassment free environment and welcomes anyone interested in games regardless of:

• Race
• Gender
• Sexual orientation
• Disability
• Physical appearance
• Religion
• Political views
• Affiliation

GTEX expects all participants to behave in a mature and responsible manner and to respect that others need not share your same views or opinions. Violations of this policy will be dealt with on a case by case basis, but may include sanctions up to and including expulsion from the show without refund or legal action.

Weapons and Prohibited Items

The Gilruth center is located on federal (NASA) property. Under federal law, 18 United States Code Section 930, it is illegal to have a firearm in a building or part of a building owned or leased by the federal government where federal employees are regularly present for performing their duties. Therefore, Concealed Carry permits cannot be honored. Obviously open carry is also prohibited.

The following items should not be brought on to NASA property and are subject to confiscation. Please note that this list is not all-inclusive. In addition to items specifically listed here other items that may be deemed to present a potential threat may also be prohibited.

• Billy clubs
• Blackjacks
• Bows and arrows
• Brass knuckles
• Disabling chemicals or gases
• Edged Weapons
• Explosives
• Firearms
• Illegal drugs/paraphernalia
• Nunchucks
• Projectile weapons
• Stun guns/shocking devices

Smoking/Vaping/Tobacco

The Gilruth center facility (interior) is designated as a non-smoking facility. Smoking/vaping is not permitted in courtyards and within 25 feet of doorways, entries, operable windows, and outdoor air intake ducts. Smokeless tobacco is prohibited from use inside the Gilruth.

Pets/Animals

Pets and other animals are prohibited in the Gilruth center, with the limited exception of trained service animals required because of disability, without permission in advance.
