Help a Little. Play a Lot.
FlatCon is looking for volunteers to help staff the registration desk, board game library check out/in, and concessions. Volunteer for three, 3-hour shifts and we’ll cover your badge!
We expect the following from all FlatCon volunteers:
Just fill out the volunteer application. You’ll be notified via email as soon as your shift is approved. Depending on how many applications we have will depend on how many volunteers will ultimately be selected.
We expect the following from all FlatCon volunteers
- Be polite and helpful and provide good customer service.
- Be 10 minutes early to your shift to facilitate any training or knowledge transfer from the previous shift.
- Be responsible with the con’s money and property.
- Answer questions and provide directional assistance.
- Contact and escalate any problems that arise to FlatCon leadership.
Expectations for Game Library Volunteers
- You will be checking out and checking in games using TableTop.events board game library system. (Training will be provided.)
- Recommend games to players based upon their interests.
- Verify Play-to-Win games are returned in a timely fashion.
- Verify game contents when checked in.
- Return games to the appropriate location when checked in.
Expectations for Concession Stand Volunteers
- Ability to handle a large rush of traffic calmly and professionally.
- Ability to make change.
- Ability to stand for lengths of time and move appropriately about the area to fill orders.
- Restock all concessions as needed.
Expectations for Registration Desk Volunteers
- Greet guests in a friendly and welcoming manner.
- Assist guests in finding and register for events through the FlatCon event website. (Training will be provided.)
- Ability to handle a large rush of traffic calmly and professionally.
- Ability to make change.
- Provide general customer service and troubleshooting.
- Provide directional assistance.
- Assist with T-shirt purchases.
