Dice Tower Retreat - Orlando

THE CONVENTION AND THE CORONAVIRUS

PLEASE NOTE: This page will be updated as new information about the Coronavirus emerges. We strongly encourage you to check back often for updates. As new information emerges, updates will be posted at the bottom of this page.

The novel coronavirus, COVID-19, has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization and is extremely contagious. The state of medical knowledge is evolving, but the virus is believed to spread from person-to-person contact and/or contact with contaminated surfaces and objects, and through the air. People can be infected and show no symptoms and therefore, spread the disease. Evidence has shown that COVID-19 can cause serious and potentially life-threatening illness and even death.

As an attendee of Dice Tower Retreat - Orlando (“DTRO”), the Dice Tower strongly encourages you to apply relevant guidance from the United States Centers for Disease Control (https://www.cdc.gov) and comply with applicable Florida State (https://floridahealthcovid19.gov/) and Orange County, Florida governmental directives (https://www.orangecountyfl.net/EmergencySafety/Coronavirus.aspx).

By purchasing a ticket to DTRO, you agree to the following:

The Dice Tower cannot guarantee that Participants will not become infected with COVID-19. By purchasing a ticket to DTRO, you acknowledge the risk of such exposure, whether it be from other participants at DTRO, any others at the Caribe Royale (hotel) unrelated and not connected to DTRO or otherwise outside of the convention and hotel.

Further, by purchasing a ticket to DTRO, you waive for yourself and for your executors, administrators, assignees and heirs any and all rights and claims for damages, losses, demands and any other actions whatsoever, which you may have or which may arise against the Dice Tower, Thomas J. Vasel, Laura Vasel, and their heirs, successors, employees, directors, officers, associates, volunteers and agents (“Released Parties”), including but not limited to claims for any and all injuries, damages or illnesses suffered by you and/or your property, which may in any way whatsoever arise out of, be related to or be connected with the Premises or your presence at DTRO, including but not limited to claims arising out of physical illness or death resulting from any exposure to COVID-19.

UPDATE (8/12/21) -- The Caribe Royale takes standards for hygiene and cleanliness very seriously. The hotel is taking additional steps to ensure the safety of their guests and team members. Click here for the full details.

UPDATE 11/1/21 -- In our convention space, masks will not be mandatory, and we ask everyone to respect the choices others make in this regard. Everyone who comes to DTRO will receive a personal-sized bottle of hand sanitizer and we'll have larger bottles of hand sanitizer throughout the game room for everyone to use.

We are also offering comfort stickers for badges to help us all to find our comfort zone. A green sticker means "hugs welcome!", a yellow sticker means "fist bumps preferred", and a red sticker means "I'd prefer to keep my distance, please." Using these stickers (and abiding by them) will help all of us to feel more comfortable at the event. Be warned, if you are not wearing a sticker, you are free game!

Obviously and importantly, we ask that you not come into the game area if you are sick or have been exposed to someone who is sick.

The Caribe recommends that hotel guests wear masks when indoors, regardless of vaccination status. Guests are also encouraged to maintain social distancing (6′ distance).
