The BGG Library is the heart of BGG Events and our staff work year round to keep it up to date and in good condition for all of our attendees. We hope you enjoy the Library and hope you will find as much joy in it as we do.
You can find the BGG Library Collection HERE.
To search the list, type in the name of the game in the search bar.
If you do not see the game you are requesting, it may be for one of the following reasons:
| Day | Open | Close |
|---|---|---|
| Wednesday | 9am | Midnight |
| Thursday | 8am | Midnight |
| Friday | 8am | Midnight |
| Saturday | 8am | Midnight |
| Sunday | 8am | 1PM |
If you finish playing a game after the library closes Wed-Sat, we have arranged for overnight dropoff of games at the hotel front desk. A reminder that if the game is late, we will look for the individual last recorded as checking out the game.
To borrow items from the BGG Library, you MUST have your badge and wristband visible.
ONLY 1 base game + expansion(s) may be checked out at a time. (You may also borrow other accessories, if available.)
Return all games in a TIMELY manner. Emails will be sent out regularly throughout the convention to those that are overly late.
Please take care of the games and return them in better condition than you found them.
After game check-in, please return the game to the appropriate shelf unit. The barcode will designate the location for replacement.
Your Library Card is your badge. You cannot checkout a game without it.
Games checked out to you are your responsibility and we will come find YOU (not your friend that you asked to return it for you) if a game is not returned in a timely manner.
BGG sends teams to Gen Con and Spiel to pickup games for the BGG Library and receives direct donations from publishers to our Dallas warehouse. Most of these games are available for regular checkout, while a limited selection is placed on permanent use tables in the Hot Games Area.
Games highlighted in Hot Games include:
We strive for a mix of light, medium, heavy games on the 32 Hot Games tables to allow for more turnover of gaming groups. Depending on the popularity of the game and our ability to get copies, some games will have multiple copies in the Hot Games Area.
An initial list of possible Hot Games titles is pulled from the forums, previews and attendee feedback. A poll is available on the site after the close of Spiel based on the games we anticipate having in the library at BGG.CON.
The final Hot Games listing is typically decided the Saturday before BGG.CON and will be posted to the forums, via a News Update and on this page.
Some of this should be common sense, but sometimes it needs to be spelled out.
The Hot Games Area does NOT guarantee game teachers. We have many Team Geek members that try to learn many of the games, but there is not enough time to do so, and their primary responsibility is to reset the games and maybe assist with questions.
It is suggested that attendees review rules and learn on their own, if possible.
If you want to watch a game in progress, please ask those already playing if they mind.
If an empty seat is available for a play of a game, please allow others to join if the game is not already in progress.
If you and your friends want to play a game, make sure everyone is ready at the same time before you sit down to the table. (i.e. no camping at a table to wait for friends, even if you are reading the rules.)
When you finish a game, please reset the components to the starting position for the next group.
When the Hot Games Area closes, unfinished games will need to be reset for the morning.
