BGG.CON is one of the premiere destinations for boardgaming enthusiasts to come together, see what is new in the world of boardgaming, and play some games. We want everyone to feel welcome and included at BGG.CON, which is why we have created this guide to accessibility at the con. You will find information about what to expect when attending BGG.CON and what accommodations are available for guests who need them.
The Hyatt Regency Dallas is fully accessible in accordance with ADA rules and regulations. Automatic door openers are available on many, but not all, doors. Accessible restrooms are available on the Exhibition, Lobby, and Atrium Levels of the hotel. All public areas of the Hyatt Regency are accessible for individuals with physical disabilities. Elevators and escalators are available between the Exhibition, Lobby, and Atrium Levels, and elevators are available to the Third Level.
Pets are not allowed in common areas, including the meeting spaces, fitness center, gift shop, restaurants, bar or pool. Please contact BGG.Events regarding registered service animals.
If you need assistance, ask. If you need help, please reach out to a member of Team Geek (light gray jersey) or a BGG Staff Member (orange jersey) and we will be happy to assist.
For those with mobility concerns, unfortunately the hotel's wheelchairs are for emergency use only. However, a local provider has offered a 10% discount to BGG.CON attendees:
We are excited that BGG.CON 2024 is a certified Sensory Aware event, through our partners at Square Holes. This certification program ensures that BGG.CON is a place where neurodivergent folks and those with sensory processing challenges can fully participate and feel safe and comfortable. Staff and volunteers have been provided some training related to understanding neurodivergence and sensory, and should be aware of the accessibility accommodations offered by BGG.CON this year.
A quiet gaming room is available on the Atrium Level. This is an open gaming area where we ask that attendees remain aware of the level of noise that they are making. We realize that boardgaming is interactive and requires some level of conversation between players, but in this area voices should be kept to a conversational level and any amplified noise from speakers or phones is prohibited.
The Sanctuary can be found on the Atrium Level in the Reverchon Room. This is a tranquil space for attendees who need a break from the crowds and sensory environment of the con. With soft lighting and comfortable seating, this is a place where you can get away, regroup, and recharge. Stay as long as you need, but please remember that space is limited and this is a resource for all attendees who need it.
