The island of Okinawa is inextricably linked to the brutal battles that occurred here for nearly three months in 1945. Over 240,000 people lost their lives, including up to 150,000 Okinawans. The islanders have not forgotten, and they now preserve dozens of war memorials, battlefields and cemeteries in order to remember and honor those who perished on all sides of the conflict.
We will travel in private motor coaches with a private guide, visiting historic battlefields, underground headquarters, monuments and more. Along the way we will learn hidden stories and enjoy unforgettable views across Okinawa. Even if you are not a history buff, this will be a memorable and moving experience.
NOTES: We will enjoy the tour aboard several air-conditioned motor coaches, all with English-speaking guides. Time will be made available for lunch, which is not included in the tour fee.
This is a private tour consisting of our fellow BGG at Sea adventurers only. The group size is strictly limited to 32 people, so don't delay in reserving your spot!
I suggest bringing a snack and water.
