Hello Gamers,
We are really glad you are attending our event and are excited to play games with you. Just a quick reminder of the rules and consequences for playing games at any of our events. (If you want to read the fine print click HERE).
Be Kind and Respectful - Speak kindly and positively about others. Do not insult others or put them down, even in joking. Avoid gossip of any kind and avoid speaking in anger. No cursing, swearing or using ugly words or gestures. No bullying. Do not tell jokes or stories about someone behind their back.
Be Prepared - Read the rules ahead of time and be on time.
Look Good - If you can wear it to school or out in public, then you can probably wear it at our events.
All Ages Welcome - Podfather: The Cruise allows gamers of all ages to join us. Plan your gaming event with appropriate ages and stages in mind.
Play from start to finish - BE ON TIME or a little bit early to your game and use good manners all the way through.

Pretty simple, right? So what happens if there is a problem?
If you are having a problem, contact Jeff or Kristine in the game room, Jeff on his deck-phone (number provided onboard), or e-mail a staff member events@boardgamegeek.com.
If someone in your game has a problem with something you are doing, and they ask you to stop, you must stop it. If you choose not to stop it, and Events Staff are notified, then the Events Staff will talk with you (and potentially parents/guardians if you are under 18) and you may be removed from the convention and not able to play anymore.

Below are the Harassment Guidelines, the Code of Conduct and rules for Reporting Unacceptable Behavior. Please read and familiarize yourself with them before joining our event. Failure to adhere to the guidelines will result in consequences for unacceptable behavior.
Code of Conduct is specified later on this page. The Code of Conduct applies to all policies supporting our events.
Our events are friendly and fun places where the community and staff can interact. Our community is always growing, and we've come up with a few ground rules to consider when attending.
There are all kinds of gamers attending our events. Using derogatory labels for other gamers can be hurtful and isolate others who enjoy different styles of play. Disagreements are bound to happen. If you find yourself in a debate, focus on challenging the idea, rather than the others in the conversation. Remember that there's another person on the other side of the table. Please help us keep it fun!
Podfather: The Cruise is friendly to all gamers, and gamers of all ages will be playing games too! When scheduling/hosting a game, please be sure to indicate the age range for your game. And when choosing to participate in a game/event, please be respectful of the age range specified.
Do not abuse, defame, harass, threaten, intimidate or stalk others while attending any our of events. Community members should feel welcome while they're attending.
Making comments solely to provoke a strong negative reaction or conflict do not contribute to the inviting place we'd like our community to be.
While certain language may not be offensive to you, please consider that some words and phrases may have a completely different effect on someone else.
Comments that contain content endorsing hatred or violence on the basis of age, disability, ethnicity, gender, race, religion, sexuality, or for any other reason are not welcome at our events.
Claiming to be other community members in order to obtain admittance to our events is considered harassment and fraud. When this is discovered, the attendee will be required to remove themselves from our event and risk permanent ban from future events.
Spam can include placing advertisements/flyers that have not been pre-approved by Events Staff. This is not allowed.
Do not advocate or disclose intent to commit illegal activities while attending our events. This includes (but is not limited to) activities that encourage fraud, piracy, or violence.
Violating any of these guidelines may result in an attendee's removal, temporary suspension, or permanent removal from all of our future events.

We believe that games are for everyone. We are committed to fostering a fun, inclusive, and safe environment for all attendees, volunteers, publishers, speakers, media representatives, partner companies, and staff (collectively, "gamers"), free from discrimination for any reason, including age, body size, disability, gender expression, gender identity, nationality, physical appearance, race, religious beliefs or background, sexual orientation, or other differences.
This code of conduct outlines our expectations for gamers' behavior and consequences for unacceptable behavior. We invite all gamers to help us ensure that our events are a safe and positive experience for everyone.
All gamers are expected to be considerate and respectful toward fellow gamers. This includes, but is not limited to:

We reserve the right to deny badge purchases for anyone we deem to have engaged in unacceptable behavior, whether that be at one of our events or any other board game industry event or simply when made aware of such behavior in any circumstances. We will refund and cancel such badge purchases if made aware after purchase but before the event begins.
If you do not share our goal of making board gaming a fun and safe space for all gamers, you are not welcome at our events.
We reserve the right to eject, without refund, from our contracted meeting spaces anyone who has engaged in unacceptable behavior at our event.
If you are subject to unacceptable behavior, notice that someone else is being subject to unacceptable behavior, or have concerns that this Code of Conduct or the Harassment Guidelines are not being followed, notify Events Staff directly or e-mail any of the following as soon as possible.
In some cases, unacceptable behavior may stop if you clearly say "No" or "Please leave me alone," or simply leave the situation. In these cases, we would appreciate it if Events Staff are still informed to help us identify any repeat offenders.

Events Staff will take all necessary steps to assist participants in feeling safe, including imposing consequences for unacceptable behavior and making sure that participants feel safe during the convention. We will record a report of any incidents. Incident reports will remain confidential with the exception of criminal matters, which we will report to law enforcement. However, we will take into account any concerns you may have about involving law enforcement.
