Chimera - The Genre Blending PbtA RPG - Version 0.6 Beta
You will work with your group to select 2 or 3 genre modules from the Fantasy, Magical Girl or Superhero genres, blend those genres together by selecting different genre tropes for your world, then create a world together collaboratively before creating your characters in this Powered by the Apocalypse RPG. Character creation consists of selecting two playbooks and fusing them together to create one unique playbook, then fleshing out your backstories and relationships with the other player characters while setting up the big plot points for the adventure the whole time. The adventure will be 100% improvised based on your selections in the world that you have built, so every session will be 100% unique to that table.
Effectively, we're using the PbtA framework for this game, so if you're used to most other PbtA games, you won't have any troubles getting into the gameplay of this one. If you aren't used to PbtA games, do not worry, since it is designed to be fairly easy to pick up as a player. We will be going over the rules beforehand, and it generally takes 10 minutes to get the full rundown and understand how the game is played. So, new players are absolutely welcome! The game will be story focused and told as a conversation between everyone at the table. The tone of the game is 100% up to everyone at the table and can be as serious, emotional or zany as you'd like! This is your shared experience, the Genre Moderator (GM) is just there to help guide the story you want to tell based on your selections.
