Proof of Vaccination Required to attend CinCityCon
As our attendees are well aware, running a convention at the current time involves balancing a number of ever-changing variables. As a gaming convention, we do not consider it within our domain to take a stance in favor of any political position or agenda, yet we have an ethical responsibility to make a decision about how to proceed in the face of newly rising infection rates and a new variant of concern.
We have decided that proof of vaccination will be required to attend CinCityCon in 2021, and will be shown when picking up your badge. Please be sure to bring a physical or digital proof of vaccination. You will not be given your badge without it.
Rationale for Decision
We have made this decision to achieve the following goals:
To allow as many people as possible to attend and enjoy our convention while prioritizing the health and welfare of all guests. Offer fun events as safely as possible. Remain as inclusive as possible.
In accordance with the state of Ohio’s policy for vaccinated individuals, we will not be requiring masks for CinCityCon. However, we are prepared to change that policy based on the advice of medical professionals, the CDC, or local governments. If wearing a mask makes you more comfortable, we encourage you to do so.
CinCityCon will consider exceptions to the vaccination requirement, but any exception must be pre-approved by the Convention Director. Examples of eligible exceptions would be children too young to get the vaccine or those with a medical condition preventing vaccination (we strongly urge anyone with medical conditions to seriously consider your own health and the possible risks)..
Transferring or Refund of Badge
If you backed the KickStarter and decide not to attend this year’s convention, you have two options. You may transfer your badge to next year, or request a refund by contacting us on Facebook or via email Chrisvrbg@gmail.com We will begin processing refund requests Aug. 23, 2021.
Our apologies to those who may be inconvenienced by this decision. We have not aimed to offend anyone, but we must follow our best judgement for the wellbeing of our guests, staff, family, friends, and growing community.
The Hyatt Place and LivINN Hotel gives our guests special rates for our gaming weekend, so don't forget to ask for the CinCityCon rate.
