Beware of the Witching Hour

It is July 1692 in the Massachusetts Bay Colony town of Salem Village (modern-day Danvers, MA). Hysteria has spread throughout the local towns as 17 year old Elizabeth Hubbard and other girls have made haunting accusations against townspeople of witchcraft and demonic possession. Less than a month ago, Bridget Bishop was hung for being a witch. Dozens more sit in jail accused of being witches or possessed by the devil. As an elder of Salem Village, you have been appointed by the new Lt. Governor, William Stoughton, to the Special Court of Oyer and Terminer to examine the accusations being made against supposed “witches” Are there indeed witches? Is this the work of the devil or another in a long line of disputes between townsfolk.
