We believe that games are for everyone and are committed to fostering a fun, inclusive, and safe environment for all TFest attendees, volunteers, and staff (collectively, "gamers"), free from discrimination for any reason, including age, body size, disability, gender expression, gender identity, nationality, physical appearance, race, religious beliefs or background, sexual orientation, veteran status, or other differences. This Code of Conduct outlines our expectations for gamers' behavior and consequences for unacceptable behavior. We invite all gamers to help us ensure that TFest is a safe and positive experience for everyone. We are here to have fun!!
Expected Behavior:
Unacceptable Behavior:
Illegal activities or acts:
A Separate and Safe Space:
Profanity/Vulgar Speech:
Copyright/Trademark Infringement:
STOP MEANS STOP!
Reporting Unacceptable Behavior:
If you are subject to unacceptable behavior, notice that someone else is being subject to unacceptable behavior, or have concerns that the Code of Conduct is not being followed, please notify a TFest volunteer or Director as soon as possible.
Do not engage the offender. In some cases, unacceptable behavior may stop if you clearly say "No" or "Please leave me alone," or simply leave the situation. In these cases, we would appreciate it if TFest staff are still informed to help us identify any repeat offenders. However if we all police ourselves we can avoid any dismissals.
TFest staff will take all necessary steps to assist gamers in feeling safe, including imposing consequences for unacceptable behavior. We will record a report of any incidents. When taking a personal report, our staff will ensure you are safe and cannot be overheard. There may be another TFest Director involved to ensure your report is managed properly. Once safe, we'll ask you to tell us what happened. This may be upsetting, but we'll handle it as respectfully as possible, and you can bring someone to support you. You won't be asked to confront anyone and we won't tell anyone who you are. Incident reports will remain confidential with the exception of criminal matters, which we will report to law enforcement. However, we will take into account any concerns you may have about involving law enforcement. We will be happy to help you contact hotel/venue security, local law enforcement, local support services, provide escorts, Uber Drivers or otherwise assist you to feel safe for the duration of the event.
