Tank Battle at the Arc de Triomphe Paris 1944, Bolt Action On 19 August 1994, with Allies about 150 Kms from Paris, the French Resistance launched its attacks against the German occupiers of their beloved Capital. The Parisians were counting on the Allies coming to their rescue. The problem with that is the Allies had no intention of going into Paris, but bypassing it and going on straight to Berlin. The Germans under the Command of General Von Choltitz had approximately 20,000 men,80 Panzers(including 20 Panther and Tigers) 23 guns of 105/150mm,35 guns of 75/88mm,6 other guns and some Waffen-SS units for the defense of Paris. Hitler ordered General Choltitz if they could not hold onto Paris, then blow up the city. With much pleading from General DeGaule to Generals Patton, Bradley and Eisenhower they finally decided that the Allies must go into Paris and prevent a bloodbath (another Warsaw) So the Free French , “Leclerc’s” 2nd Armored Division and elements of the US 4th Infantry Division were immediately dispatched to Paris and help the Parisians Resistance Fighters. You can choose to lead Free French tanks (M-10s & Sherman 75mm) or the German Panthers and Captured French R-35s in the armor battle that actually occurred from the Arc de Triomphe down to down the Avenue des Champs-Élysées to the Tuileries Garden. The game rules are Bolt Action (WW2 1/56 scale Miniature WarGame ). No experience needed. Everything Provided. 13+ years and up.
