Tickets
This event is past the point where ticket sales are permitted.Vileplume Mountain has always been a subject of superstitious awe to the neighboring Pokémon. The mountain is named for the spore-like plumes of white smoke continuously emanating the mountaintop.
Thirteen years ago, the now-mythical humans created a powerful Pokémon in a laboratory: Mewtwo. After freeing themself from the bondage of their human creators, Mewtwo sought a suitable base where they could indulge their eccentricities without fear of interference. When they visited Vileplume Mountain, they discovered the system of old lava-tubes that riddle the cone and underlying strata. Taking with them their fanatically loyal company of cloned Pokémon, Mewtwo disappeared below Vileplume Mountain and vanished from the knowledge of Pokémon-kind…
Today, the once-feared name of Mewtwo is little known even to learned Pokémon. Little-known, that is, until several weeks ago, when three highly-valued TMs, Heat Wave, Wood Hammer and Razor Shell, disappeared from the vaults of their owners in the midst of the nearby Viridian City. Rewards were posted and a frantic search for the priceless items began, but not even a single clue turned up until the priceless TMs’ former owners (all wealthy Pokémon) each received a copy of the following note from a mail-delivering Dragonite:
Search ye far or search ye near
You’ll find no trace of the three
Unless you follow instructions clear
For the TMs abide with me.
North past forest, farm and furrow
You must go to the fuming mound
Then down away from the sun you’ll burrow
Forget life, forget light, forget sound.
To rescue Heat Wave, you must do battle
With the Beast in the Boiling Bubble.
Crost cavern vast, where chain-links rattle
Lies Wood Hammer, past water-spouts double.
Razor Shell yet remains to be won
Underneath inverted ziggurat.
That garnered, think not that you’re done
For now you’ll find you are caught.
I care not, former owners small
What heroes you seek to hire.
Though mighty, I’ll catch ‘em all
Or send them to the fire.
It was signed with the symbol that looks like a green feather.
Vileplume Mountain has tentatively been identified as the “fuming mound” of the poem. The former owners of the lost TMs are outfitting a group of intrepid heroes to take up the challenge. If the adventurous Pokémon can rescue the TMs from this false Mewtwo (for who can believe it is really the legendary Pokémon created by ancient humans), the wealthy Pokémon have promised to grant them whatever they desire, if it is within their power to do so
