RiVirCon Policies

Photography and Media At RiVirCon, we aim to create an inclusive and respectful environment for all attendees. By attending RiVirCon, you consent to being photographed or recorded during the event. Please review the following guidelines regarding photography, video recording, and the use of images: 1. Consent by Attendance Implied Consent: By attending RiVirCon, you acknowledge and agree that photographs and videos may be taken of you during the event. These may be used by RiVirCon for promotional purposes, including but not limited to social media, websites, and marketing materials. 2. RiVirCon Official Photography RiVirCon will have official photographers and videographers documenting the event. By attending, you acknowledge that these materials may be used for promotional purposes. If you do not wish to have your image used by RiVirCon in promotional materials, you must notify the staff at the registration desk upon arrival. 3. Press and Media Press and media attendees are permitted to take photos and videos. However, they are expected to respect designated no-photo zones if any and comply with RiVirCon’s general policies regarding photography. Press and media may use their footage for publication, provided it adheres to the guidelines of respecting attendee comfort and designated no-photography areas. 4. Prohibited Use Photography and video recording are strictly prohibited in designated areas, such as restrooms or marked no-photography zones. The use of photography or recording for harassment or any inappropriate purposes is strictly prohibited. Violations of this policy will result in immediate removal from the event and may lead to legal action or a ban from attending future RiVirCon conventions...

  1. Commercial Use Attendees are not permitted to use images or video footage captured at RiVirCon for commercial purposes without prior written consent from RiVirCon management. This includes but is not limited to sales, advertising, or monetization of media taken during the convention.
  2. Social Media Sharing Feel free to share your experiences at RiVirCon on social media! Use our official hashtags and tag us in your posts. By posting, you grant RiVirCon permission to share and repost your content for promotional purposes.
  3. Violation of Policy Attendees who do not comply with the Photography and Media Policy may be asked to delete inappropriate images or footage and may face removal from the convention. Further legal action may be taken in cases of harassment or privacy violations.

This policy is provided in accordance with U.S. laws regarding public event photography and videography, including privacy laws and guidelines as applicable in the state of Virginia. By attending a public event, attendees generally have reduced expectations of privacy. RiVirCon reserves the right to modify or update this policy at any time to comply with changes in local, state, or federal regulations.
