About Richmond Open

Celebrating our fifth year, the Richmond Open is a community-led tabletop convention featuring miniatures gaming events, large tournaments, historical wargaming, narrative gaming, role playing games, board games, vendors, open gaming, and more.

Things to Come in 2026

This will be the best Richmond Open yet! Here are a few highlights:

• Largest Warhammer 40k tournament in Virginia hosted by Away Games
• Painting Seminars and Painting Competition hosted by MHCP
• Friday Night will feature several narrative and casual game events for groups
• More board games and board game events than ever before!
• New game events for Trench Crusade, Gaslands, Guild Ball, Space Gits, Wars of Ozz, Sage Stones, and more!

What Do I Need to Attend?

You will need a Badge which gains you access to the convention featuring Tournaments, Narrative Events, Open Gaming, Demos, Board Game Library, Vendors, etc. You will also need Tickets for any Events you specifically plan on attending. Think of tickets as registering for the tournament or game you want to play. Some of these cost money and some are free.

If you only plan on attending to play in Open Gaming events or to peruse, etc. then all you'll need is a Badge.
