How it Works

We gather in a private, customized Discord server and play prototypes on the virtual tabletop or over video chat.

We recommend browsing the resources on our help building page to speed up the process of learning and building in a variety of digital prototyping platforms.

Event Schedule

There are no scheduled events over Protspiel Online weekends. Instead, we have a "Looking for a Game" (LFG) Voice channel with 24 hour moderator support.

Designers use our customized "Players Wanted" system to highlight their prototypes and attract testers. Moderators help match playtesters to prototypes real-time and provide tech support when needed.

As with in-person Protospiels, the focus is on designers trading playtests with one another. Designers aim to give approximately as much playtesting as they receive (If 4 people play your game for 1 hour, try to spend 4 hours playing others' games.)
