Welcome to Plattecon XXXIX

Plattecon falls on February 27th - March 1st, 2026, and will be hosted in Velzey Commons, inside Ullsvik Hall.

Plattecon offers a wide variety of events, panels, and more for attendees of all ages to partake in. We have everything from a free to play video game room, public game library, Play-to-Win games, and much more.

Weekend badges will also be sold in-person at the con. Single-day badges will be available in-person only. Prices are listed below.

We are also in process of obtaining a card reader and hope to have a credit card payment option available at front desk this year!

Plattecon Events

Friday Night Game Jam:

In this rapid pace board game jam, contestants will be given limited supplies and time to design a board game. Participants may sign up at the event, or at the front desk prior to event start, in a group of up to 3 people. Games will be judged after the design period, and awards and prizes will be given out on Sunday morning.

Miniature Speed Painting Contest:

Bring your paints and brushes for this fast-paced painting competition. We supply the mini, and you get 90 minutes to paint it. Prizes are awarded for best painted models.

Cosplay Contest:

Plattecon is proud to host another year of our annual cosplay/costume contest! Contestants will show off, and be judged and awarded prizes based upon creativity, originality, effort, presentation and quality.

Plattecon Family Feud:

Back for its third year, we are happy to have once more our Plattecon-themed Family Feud. After gathering answers to questions over the weekend, two teams will be paired against each other to test their nerdy knowledge in this Family Feud-style trivia contest.

  Plattecon is a gaming convention that's hosted by the Platteville Gaming Association at the University of Wisconsin Platteville for nearly 40 years. As such, please remember that all the work done to make this convention happen is done by a dedicated group of college students using their free time.
