We are an independent comic book company with a team spread out all over America who creates, prints, and publishes high-quality comics. Our flagship title is Super!, which follows a ragtag team of amateur heroes as they struggle to make a name for themselves in a universe dominated by more popular, established teams. In the grand tradition of The Venture Bros. and Mystery Men, SUPER! is a loving homage to the genre that knows when to laugh at itself and isn't afraid to poke fun at comic tropes along the way. Our newest release, The Surgeon, follows a doctor as she seeks out work in a post-apocalyptic wasteland and learns to balance her desire to heal with the necessity to kill others in order to survive. Check out uhstudios.com for more information and some hot free preview action!
I’m looking forward to another year at PlatteCon, selling bead art, jewelry, and more, handmade by me! Check out gingerkittenenterprises.com, or follow me on Facebook or Instagram @gingerkittenenterprises for photos of my work!
The European Union is set to enact legislation that will make copyright fair use illegal. It is so far reaching that even simple things like memes and tweets with quotes in them will be illegal. The Electronic Frontier Foundation, Google, Wikipedia, YouTube, and even the United Nations have condemned this legislation.
If this legislation passes it will force small businesses like Tabletop.Events to stop serving customers in the EU. Worse, if this sort of legislation passes it will likely influence laws in the United States, and could cause us to shut down entirely. To be clear, we do not violate copyright law, but this law would hold us accountable if someone uploads something to our site that violates copyright law. As a small business we simply do not have the resources to spend the $100,000,000+ needed to build a copyright filtering AI the way YouTube has, and even their AI is not perfect.
If you want to maintain a free and fair internet use the hashtag #SaveYourInternet and contact your local government officials telling them you do not want Article 13 to pass.
