On the Same Page: A Diversity and Inclusion Initiative
The Mission of the On the Same Page Diversity and Inclusion Initiative for the Philadelphia Area Gaming Expo (PAGE) is to improve the diversity of the PAGE community by ensuring that all attendees feel welcome and included.
The vast majority of PAGE 2’s attendees were non-Hispanic white males, which does not mirror the demographics of our host city of Philadelphia, where only 34% of the population identifies as non-hispanic white and 46% identify as men. We recognize the importance of creating attendance and inclusion opportunities for gamers from all ethnic backgrounds, ages, genders, cultural backgrounds and all manner of disabilities and will strive to make all attendees feel welcomed and included in the PAGE community.
To fulfill the mission of improving the diversity and inclusion at PAGE, we have:
Formed a Diversity and Inclusion Committee to tackle this issue
Engaged in outreach and sought input from existing organizations that promote diversity and inclusion within the gaming industry
Earmarked $2500 to create programs that will promote diversity, inclusion and outreach
By taking these steps, we aim to make PAGE a more welcoming and inclusive convention.
