Frequently Asked Questions

What time do doors open and close for PAP 2026?

Friday 8:00am-9pm

Saturday 8:00am-9pm

Sunday 9am-3pm

How much stuff should I bring with me?

The Home page of the convention site has an example of how much you should bring! If you bring too much or are taking up too much space, you will be asked to return some items to your car. Be mindful of the other attendees around you. Only YOU can prevent painter sprawl.

Why would I pay to attend PAP when I can just stay at home and paint for free?

Paint-A-Palooza is about more than just painting minis. It is about spending time with the local mini painting and hobby community to share our love for this awesome, inspiring, and creative hobby! When you attend PAP you are able to be apart of something bigger than yourself. You are also in the perfect place to get instant feedback on your latest project, participate in fun mini painting challenges, take awesome classes from our award winning instructors, and put a dent in your pile of opportunity!

I'm interested in entering a piece into PAPO, but I don't understand the difference between the Guts and Glory skill categories

Guts is for newer painters and/or painters that may have never competed before! This is a great place to start, if you have the guts to do so. In other painting competitions, this might be called "Standard".

Glory is targeted towards those painters that want to really push themselves to see what they can accomplish. This is for painters that have competed before. This skill category more closely aligns with what other competitions may call "Master" or "Advanced".

What time do PAPO entries need to be turned in by?

All PAPO entries need to be turned in to Event Personnel no later than 7pm on Friday, January 30.

If I enter into one of the fun challenges to paint a mini at PAP, do I get to keep the mini?

Yes! What you paint is yours to keep!

The only exception is a couple events that are more "Community" focused, that will go into the display case at C3/TT, but those events will specifically state that the mini/diorama will go be on display.
