Great Falls Gaming Rendezvous needs volunteers to help operate the various functions vital to making the convention happen, along with running games and events to engage and entertain attendees. To encourage participation in these roles, we've crafted the packages below to thank volunteers for their work.

STAFF VOLUNTEERS

These are the people who help with the registration table, act as a runner, work in Con HQ, and operate the Games Library. There is also setting up and breaking down before and after the event. These are necessary roles to keep the convention running smoothly, and often thankless tasks that do take away from fun time for an attendee.

To reward our staff volunteers, we offer a reimbursement for the hours you offer us. For every three hours spent volunteering in any role, you will receive five dollars ($5) back at the end of the con. Each block also rewards the volunteer with 1 prize token which can be redeemed from the prize room, either immediately or saved from year to year. You can receive a maximum compensation for up to three (3) blocks of time (9 hours). Individuals can volunteer for more hours if you wish, gaining our gratitude (and more prize tokens).

When the time comes for your shift, you should report to the Registration table or to Con HQ and check in. At the end of your shift, make sure to check out at the same location, so we can track your work and make sure you receive the proper compensation. You will receive your prize token then, and tokens can be redeemed at any point during con hours. At the end of the convention, please come to Con HQ where we'll verify your hours and give recompense your money properly.

If you volunteer for hours and don't appear for your shift, not only will you not be compensated, but we'll record the name and not allow you to volunteer again at future cons (unless there's a valid reason: if you're sick, stay in your room until you're feeling better, please!).

GM/Host VOLUNTEERS

These are people who volunteer to run games (of all categories) or even hosting some other kind of event (that does not normally include sitting on panels, though moderating a panel or workshop could qualify according to ConCom's needs). Compensation will be awarded for events submitted to us and on the schedule no later than September 28th, 2022.

Since for many, hosting games and events of this nature is part of the fun of attending the convention, the compensation is not as high as for Staff Volunteers. However, we still wish to offer some sort of tangible thanks for stepping up to make the convention more entertaining for everyone. For GMs/Hosts, we offer a choice: for every four hour block of approved activities, you will receive a reimbursement of three ($3) dollars or 1 Prize Token. You may receive this opportunity for up to a maximum of 3 four-hour blocks (12 hours total over the course of the convention), though of course, you're welcome to run more if you wish.

To receive this opportunity, the game/event must run. GMs will be required to collect the tickets from anyone who signed up in advance, and ensure that those with tickets get their seats as a priority. Anyone can fill empty seats on-site. The Runner at some point will come by and collect the tickets from the GM, ensuring the game is running and record this for Con HQ in order to give your credit. If the runner doesn't show up to the table for some reason, GMs are requested to turn their tickets in at Con HQ so we can record your work for compensation. If you show up to run your game but the event is canceled due to no attendance (or other extenuating circumstances) you will still receive credit for your efforts.
