Game Masters GMs (game masters) are knowledgeable teachers of games. GMs show newcomers how to play classic games up to including the hottest titles, offering unique and often rare experiences. Every GM ran event adds another way to have fun at the show. Do you need a special certification to be a GM? No. All you need is the willingness to teach a game you love to others. If you GM enough qualified titles and hours with your games, your badge will be on us!
Prototypes, unpublished games, some self published games, and VIG badges will not qualify you for a GM badge.
Event submissions close July 31st.
Friendly badge service may be made in advance.
We understand that there are a select few that may not be able to pick up there badges prior to the close of registration. This is a program that many publishers support in order to get their games played by as many people as possible. They select the games for inclusion in our PTW list.
Certain games are a part of the PTW program, and can be checked out just like any other library game. GrandCon needs to record every single person who plays a PTW game at the time of checkout. This then allows everyone who plays a PTW title for a chance to win it. A drawing is held Sunday mid-afternoon, which you must be present to win.
Generally we print a posting of the winners near the library HQ tables Sunday afternoon. Keep in mind that winning one game does not make you ineligible to win any other. The drawings are random, so have fun playing as much as you can.
