Geekway to the West 2024 is set for May 16-19, 2024! Take a look at your treasure map and see that X marks the spot - we will once again be at the St. Charles Convention Center, located just minutes from Lambert St. Louis Airport. The attached Embassy Suites hotel provides comfy lodging so you stay where you game!

Badge sales for Geekway to the West 2024 are now closed! We close badge sales about 3 weeks before the event each year. We do not sell badges at the door.

If you missed out, you might want to check our Facebook page and look for folks who can't make it - tell 'em to give ye a badge or ye'll make 'em walk the plank!

Hotel Patron badges open on January 5 at 8 AM CT, and offer the following:

• Early access to the Geekway hotel block at Embassy Suites.
• Special limited-edition Patron swag including a 2024 challenge coin and a freebie to be named later.
• Grants access to all four days of open gaming, 24 hours a day for the duration of the convention.
• Also includes access to the vendor hall, game library (including the world-famous Play and Win selection), the ability to sign up for all tournaments and events, and participation in door prizes.
• Price: $150.

Non-Hotel Patron badges open on January 5 at 8 AM CT, and offer the following:

• Special limited-edition Patron swag including a 2024 challenge coin and a freebie to be named later.
• Grants access to all four days of open gaming, 24 hours a day for the duration of the convention.
• Also includes access to the vendor hall, game library (including the world-famous Play and Win selection), the ability to sign up for all tournaments and events, and participation in door prizes.
• Price: $110.

Regular four day badges open on January 19 at 8 AM CT, and offer the following:

• Grants access to all four days of open gaming, 24 hours a day for the duration of the convention.
• Also includes access to the vendor hall, game library (including the world-famous Play and Win selection), the ability to sign up for all tournaments and events, and participation in door prizes.
• Price: $70.

Registration for Geekway Events (like Battling Tops, the Flea Market, Road to Gen Con Events and Double Exposure Regional Championships) will open on March 13 at 8 AM CT.

Envoy Demo Zone Events and other assorted tournaments will be available for registration on April 17 at 8 AM CT.

COVID policy: We are not planning to require vaccination, nor mask-wearing at Geekway to the West. As always, if conditions change, this policy may be updated. (Please note that we make no guarantees regarding scurvy.)

About Geekway to the West

Geekway is a convention managed and run entirely by volunteers, and focused exclusively on board games. In 2023, we welcomed 2500 gamers to St. Louis!

Geekway is known throughout the Seven Seas for our Play and Win collection. We hand-pick around 100 different titles, and provide multiple copies for checkout and play. Every time you play a Play and Win game, you get an entry to win a copy of that game. The more you play, the more chances to win! This is a great way to try out games that are new to you, and hopefully take a couple home.

We also have a gigantic curated game library with more than 1500 games of all genres. This is a perfect way for you to try out an old classic, find a new favorite, or simply grab a game to play with friends in the massive open gaming space.

Additionally, Geekway offers:

• A vendor hall with over 20 publishers excited to show you their wares.
• Fun events like Battling Tops and Fancy Gaming (The Cannon Ball!).
• A Flea Market to help you get rid of your old games, or pick up some bargains for your collection.
• Prototype Row, where you can show off your own game design and get tips from fellow designers.
• The Geekway Trade Table (in its 19th year!), where you can trade games with others in a unique live format.
• Demo games available from 25+ publishers!
• Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!

A note on fees: We use the fine platform of Tabletop Events to manage our convention. And they do a good job, but it ain't free! This year, we are absorbing the fees that we are charged (about 6.5% per badge sold). However, if you ask for a refund, we still need to cover those fees. So here's our Refund Policy - You can refund your badge until Friday, May 10, at 8:00 AM Central Time. We will keep 6% of your purchase price to cover fees that are charged by Tabletop Events. After May 10, no refunds are available!

When you purchase your badge, you can also add a t-shirt to your order! This year's t-shirt features Mark Sellmeyer's "Geekway to the Seven Seas" design. Limited quantities are available, so be sure to pre-order a shirt to make sure you can get this year's shirt!

Hotel Info: Our connected hotel is the Embassy Suites. First dibs for this hotel goes to those who buy Hotel Patron Badges. When you buy your badge, you will receive an email with a link to the hotel block. If there are no rooms available, here are a few alternatives:

We will have a shuttle that runs between the convention center and the Streets of St. Charles shopping area, where both hotels above are located.

Geekway runs smoothly because we have the best crew of volunteers. Our volunteerin’ mateys arrr called Geek Guides!

We're switching to managing registration for Geek Guides via Sign Up Genius. To volunteer at Geekway (and get some sweet swag), you can sign up here starting February 12.

Emails will go out January 29 at 8 AM to Specialized Geek Guides (Brute, Loot, & Boot Squads, Flea Market/Trade Table Guides) and on February 5 at 8 AM to all Previous Geek Guides. One perk of volunteering is that in future years you will get a little bit of a head start to sign up!

If you sign up for shifts, you get stuff! (This is subject to change but will be basically accurate!)

• For volunteering 2 shifts, you get a Geek Guide shirt (shirt design tbd) and a secret swag item.
• For each hour you volunteer, you get 1 entry (maximum of 10 entries) into a Geek Guide-only drawing for a free board game.
• 4 entries gets a bonus entry into a raffle for one of 3 (three) $50 Miniature Market gift cards
