ARE YOU READY TO ROCK?

Geekway to the West 2023 is set for May 18-21, 2023! We will once again be at the St. Charles Convention Center, located just minutes from Lambert St. Louis Airport. The attached Embassy Suites hotel provides comfy lodging so you can get that music festival experience while you game!

Geekway Badge sales are now closed - there are no at the door sales for Geekway!

Want a badge but didn't get one? Check on the St. Louis Area Boardgamers Facebook group, or on the Geekway Facebook page. You can buy a badge from someone who is not attending.

Reminder on Geekway's refund policy: You can refund your badge until Friday, May 12, at 8:00 AM Central Time. We will keep 6% of your purchase price to cover fees that are charged by Tabletop Events. After May 12, no refunds are available!

A four-day badge:

  • Grants access to all four days of open gaming, 24 hours a day for the duration of the convention.
  • Also includes access to the vendor hall, game library (including the world-famous Play and Win selection), the ability to sign up for all tournaments and events, and participation in door prizes.
  • Price: $70.

* As of April 3, 2023, the Badge Price has gone up to $80. And just like a Metallica concert, Geekway doesn't do sales at the door. Buy your badge early!*

Registration for Geekway Events (like Battling Tops, the Flea Market, and Double Exposure tournaments) will open on March 17 at 8 AM CT. The schedule for those events is available now - please click "Attend -> Events Schedule" in the menu above!

COVID policy: We are not planning to require vaccination, nor mask-wearing at Geekway to the West. As always, if conditions change, this policy may be updated.

About Geekway to the West

Geekway is a convention managed and run entirely by volunteers, and focused exclusively on board games. In 2022, we welcomed nearly 2000 gamers to St. Louis!

Definitely the most METAL part of Geekway is our Play and Win collection. We hand-pick around 100 different titles, and provide multiple copies for checkout and play. Every time you play a Play and Win game, you get an entry to win a copy of that game. The more you play, the more chances to win! This is a great way to try out games that are new to you, and hopefully take a couple home.

We also have a gigantic curated game library with more than 1500 games of all genres. This is a perfect way for you to try out an old classic, find a new favorite, or simply grab a game to play with friends in the massive open gaming space.

Additionally, Geekway offers:

  • A vendor hall with over 20 publishers excited to show you their wares.
  • Fun events like Battling Tops and Fancy Gaming.
  • A Flea Market to help you get rid of your old games, or pick up some bargains for your collection.
  • Prototype Row, where you can show off your own game design and get tips from fellow designers.
  • The Geekway Trade Table (in its 18th year!), where you can trade games with others in a unique live format.
  • Demo games available from 20 publishers!
  • More fun than biting a head off a bat live on stage!

And hey, this year we wanna say thanks to all of you who supported us through the last few years - so we have dropped our prices! You probably won't see that at a heavy metal concert anytime soon.

A note on fees: We use the fine platform of Tabletop Events to manage our convention. And they do a good job, but it ain't free! This year, we are absorbing the fees that we are charged (about 6.5% per badge sold). However, if you ask for a refund, we still need to cover those fees. So here's our Refund Policy - You can refund your badge until Friday, May 12, at 8:00 AM Central Time. We will keep 6% of your purchase price to cover fees that are charged by Tabletop Events. After May 12, no refunds are available!

When you purchase your badge, you can also add a t-shirt to your order! This year's t-shirt features Mark Sellmeyer's "Heavy Metal Gaming" design. Limited quantities are available, so be sure to pre-order a shirt to make sure you can get this year's design!

Psssst, Geek Guides... Over here!

Everybody knows you can't be a heavy metal rocker without a crew of roadies setting up the stage. At Geekway, we call our roadies Geek Guides, and they make the convention work! You can sign up in the Volunteers tab starting on January 20. You must have a Geekway badge to volunteer.

If you sign up for shifts, you get stuff!

  • If you do at least 2 shifts, you get a Geek Guide shirt (with a special design!) and a secret swag item.
  • If you do at least 4 shifts, you also get 1 entry into a raffle for a $150 Miniature Market gift card.
  • Additionally, for every 2 shifts, you get 1 entry into the Geek Guide specific door prize raffle of board games (max of 5 entries).

If you have any questions, please contact Erin via email at GeekwayGeekGuides@gmail.com.

It's totally metal to be a Geek Guide - so sign up and become one today!
