The Gaming Hoopla features tabletop boardgaming, miniatures, role-playing games, and giant & life-size board games, tournaments, play-to-win events, free rental from the MilCoG games library, and much more!

With hundreds of scheduled events, as well as open gaming areas and a large (free!) rental library, Gaming Hoopla is an ideal place for board game hobbyists to play with friends and family, or meet new gaming buddies! We host games of all age levels and skill levels, genres and play types. This year, the Hoopla will be opening the doors one hour before the first event slot begins (reflected in the hours shown to the right), to allow attendees to register and set up games they are judging before the action starts!

Game experts from the MilCOG Games Library can also help guide to a game that matches your experience, interests, available time, number of players etc.

We also feature: The Best Raffle Ever! (No, Really); Exhibitors - featuring a variety of items for sale; a silent auction (In which attendees can buy and sell items); and the Hoopla Math Trade (Get games you want, get rid of those you don't!)

Just an hour north of Chicago center and 1 hour south of Milwaukee center directly off I-94, the Holiday Inn Gurnee Convention Center offers an on-site restaurant and bar as well as dozens very close dining options from fast food to sit-down restaurants.
