Game and Party Con 2023

GAME AND PARTY CON POLICIES AND RULES

Game & Party Con is about having a very fun weekend with fun people playing lots of great games. We’ve worked very hard to get to this point and we want everyone who attends to be fully invested in having an enjoyable time at something we can all be proud of. In order to do that, it’s important to put a few rules in writing so that we all feel respected, safe, and on the same page.

Harassment Policy

We take violence and harassment of attendees at Game & Party Con very seriously. We pride ourselves in having a safe convention and will not tolerate unacceptable behavior, which include but is not limited to:

• Offensive verbal comments including but not limited to: gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, or disability

• Inappropriate use of nudity and/or sexual images in public spaces

• Deliberate intimidation or stalking

• Sustained disruption of events or disorderly conduct

• Inappropriate physical contact or unwelcome sexual attention

Engaging in any of these acts puts you at risk for immediate removal from the convention, and a permanent ban from Game & Party Con in the future.

If you feel threatened at Game & Party Con, or witness a situation that you think may be a problem, it is your responsibility to immediately report it to a Game & Party Con staff member. You can go directly to the registration area for immediate assistance. We want to help you, so you need to make us aware of anything that happens that concerns you.

Convention Rules

The goal of Game & Party Con is to help you have a great time with as few restrictions as possible, but there are a few basic rules that must be followed:

  1. Your badge must be visibly worn at all times when in convention areas. You’ll not be allowed to participate in any convention events without having a badge and you may be asked to leave the convention if you don’t have a badge on.

  2. We cannot offer refunds on badges to Game & Party Con, with the exception of a cancelation made by us. If the entire event is canceled, we will refund 100% of your purchase, or provide you with the option for us to hold your funds for our event rescheduling. If you are no longer able to come to the convention and were seeking a refund, we are not able to offer a refund. If you email Info@GameAndParty.com before midnight on August 4, 2023, we can transfer your badge to someone else’s name. A financial exchange is your responsibility to transact, bearing in mind that Game & Party Con does not allow attendees to sell badges for a profit.

  3. Organized events are set up and run by volunteers. Please respect them by respecting the rules they set up for their events, as they have final call on what happens within their event. You may report problem event organizers (as they can report problem players) to the registration desk, where Game & Party Con staff will be easily contacted.

  4. Flyers or promotional items must be reviewed and approved by Game & Party Con before being distributed. We’re pretty easygoing and will likely approve almost everything, but we reserve the right to prohibit material, at our discretion. If we haven’t approved it in advance, our crew will likely remove the materials and you may be asked to leave.

Game & Party Con is a fun gaming experience in a great hotel. We’ll have crew members around keeping an eye on things, but when it comes down to it your personal security and the safety of your property is your responsibility. Game & Party Con and its staff are not responsible or liable for any loss of items or property or the physical safety of attendees, volunteers, vendors, or guests. However, we do maintain a “Lost and Found” area at the Registration Desk and will do our best to help reunite you with any lost property if at all possible.

The police will be notified of anyone found stealing or harming another person.

Throughout Game & Party Con you will find yourself at some time or other in front of a camera. Game & Party Con reserves the right to use the likeness of any volunteers, attendees, guests, or vendors in video or still images or audio recording for promotional purposes. By registering or volunteering for Game & Party Con, you are consenting to our use of your likeness for such promotional purposes.

Please do not bring any food with a scent into the gaming room (i.e., Fast Food, Indian, really anything cooked) as it can be disruptive to others. These items can be consumed in the hotel lobby or in your hotel sleeping room. Feel free to have snacks, sandwiches, and the drinks of your choice in the gaming space. Regardless of what you eat/drink, please do so responsibly – clean up your trash.

Finally, remember that Game & Party Con reserves the right to revoke convention badges and have any person(s) removed from the convention/hotel for any reason should the need arise.

VOLUNTEER EXPECTATIONS

To keep the Party running smoothly, Game & Party Con is looking for a few new "Party Volunteers."

Playing games at the convention is a blast, but volunteering behind-the-scenes can be even more rewarding! If you are interested in joining the family, we’ll need you to bring a strong work ethic, smiles, lots of enthusiasm, and a professional attitude because we do things excellently at Game & Party Con.

While we are not able to take on everyone who is willing to serve as a volunteer (and we hope you won’t take it personally if you are not selected!) Party Volunteers will:

• Act professionally, show maturity, and have fun! As a Party Volunteer, you will serve as a representative of the convention and no other special interest group, political organization, etc.

• Check in at the Registration Desk when you arrive (your volunteer coordinator will contact you before the show with your duties and responsibilities outlined).

• Show up on time for your scheduled shift(s).

• Listen respectfully to other members of the Party family and communicate openly and respectfully with them, if there are problems or if you need help. They will do the same for you.

• Provide reliable contact information and be responsive. At a minimum, this means a valid email address that you check regularly for communication before the convention and a cell phone we can use to contact you if necessary.

And now for the really fine print:

All Game & Party Con Attendees shall protect, defend, indemnify and hold harmless Game & Party, LLC, and Tabletop Enterprises, LLC, its affiliated corporations, and their respective officers, directors, shareholders, agents, representatives, and employees from and against any and all costs and expenses, damages, claims, suits, actions, liabilities, losses, and judgments including, without limitation, attorneys’ fees and legal expenses, based on, arising out of, or in any way related or connected with the Convention or any other matter or activity directly or indirectly related to the Convention, including but not limited to libel, slander, disparagement, defamation, copyright infringement, invasion of privacy, piracy, plagiarism, or infringement of any patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret or other intellectual property right of any third party. This obligation shall continue beyond the length of the convention.
