Have you ever had powerful feelings of attachment to a famous person? With the recent explosion of hyperniche content on the internet through various social media, consumers have been given unprecedented access to the creators of their favorite content. In turn, many content consumers have had to grapple with the effects of these newfound parasocial relationships - lopsided relationships between adoring fans and the personas that are barely aware of them. These days, nearly everyone engages in these parasocials on some level, especially in the gaming space.
