Welcome! We are a group of board game enthusiasts from the upstate of South Carolina, with a passion for party games, and board games alike. This is our first convention, and it is named after our favorite social deduction game, Blood on the Clocktower.
Attention: A badge must be purchased in order to attend this event. Badges may or may not be available on the days of the convention, so be sure to register before then. To purchase a badge, scroll to the bottom of this page. Attendees must abide by our Convention Policies. (Click on the link below.) The first 100 people to register online will receive a small token of our appreciation, at check-in. In addition, Full Weekend badge holders are eligible for a secret contest, to be held Sunday morning until 12:30, and concluded soon after. (Rules will be posted 8am, Sunday.) Disclaimer: Sunday badge holders are also eligible, and no purchase is necessary. Anyone with admission to the convention on Sunday is eligible to enter and win the skill-based contest. (The skills include estimating, visual recognition, negotiating, and maybe some bluffing, similar to those used in board gaming.) However, Full Weekend badge holders will have an advantage by attending both days. The prize is $20 toward a Boardwalk purchase (or a gift certificate.)
There is no charge for parking in the two closest parking lots. We are in Meeting Room 104, Side Room 103, and Bonus Room 100, on the Pleasantburg Drive side of the building.
You can add a game to the schedule, to have a structure, and allow people to save their seat. (The cutoff time for event submissions is Thursday, May 29, at 12 noon.) Or do "open gaming", meaning that attendees may self-organize their own game, or borrow one from our ample Game Library >>> Game Library
If you have prototype game(s), make a note in the description, or let me know by email. We will designate an area as the prototype tables, just for designers. You may have to take turns using those tables, so we will approve a few time slots for each designer.
Admission is for ages 12 and up, and badges must be worn, with name visible, at all times. I.D. is required from the attendee, or their guardian, to obtain badges. Badges may not be shared or transferred. No outside food or beverages are allowed in the building, and we do not allow them in the meeting rooms, if bought onsite. Only water is provided for our event, but there are numerous restaurants and hotels nearby.
Play-To-Win There will be a few games available (not those below) for the Play-To-Win event, which will last all day, each day, until 6:30pm, when the winners will be randomly selected from those who played each game. (Thanks to Boardwalk, FLGS, for donating many of those.) The more badges we sell, the more games will be in Play-To-Win!
In addition, we will host small tournaments, with a prize going to the winner of each. There will be several sessions of Blood On The Clocktower each day, run by our experienced Storytellers. Special guests include the fun guys and gals of Tantrum House! And, what would a gaming convention be without a flea market? Sign up for free, and bring a few of your personal games to sell. We will approve 15 spots, each taking up half of a table (4 feet), on Saturday at 12 noon.
Volunteering We have a few shifts available. Reimbursement is for each day that you help us for 3 hours. Email me if you are interested, before taking a shift.
If you have any questions, please send me an email. Thanks, Brad Fortner
